Cutlery argument - tell me who's right?

The order of cutlery in the cutlery drawer. Should it go

A. Forks, knives, spoons

or

B. Knives, Forks, Spoons

Things have come to a head today after months of us both stealthily swapping them to the correct way, depending on who's unloading the dishwasher. I said I'd ask Mumsnet and whatever you say will be the way in future (even if it is the wrong way).

Op I was taught that at boarding school, mix the buggers up in the dishwashers so they don't bed down together and retain the filth.
I might change my cutlery drawer after this thread. I can see the laying table sense of having knives to the right.
Do knives, forks and spoons seem like silly words to anybody else?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/04/2016 22:41

a cos thats how it goes on the table.

JustABigBearAlan · 23/04/2016 22:42

Spoon fork knife here.

Yes, Ava! The more I've been reading this thread, the weirder the words seem!

We don't keep our cutlery in a drawer but the order is fork, knife, spoon, decided based on no reason whatsoever.

Storminateapot · 23/04/2016 22:43

Spoon, fork, knife

MajesticWhine · 23/04/2016 22:44

I think we might be A, but I can't be arsed to get up and check.

OP, I have this delightful image of you spending hours after dinner playing cutlery sudoku with the dishwasher to avoid the aforementioned tessellation. Grin
