Cutlery argument - tell me who's right?

The order of cutlery in the cutlery drawer. Should it go

A. Forks, knives, spoons

or

B. Knives, Forks, Spoons

Things have come to a head today after months of us both stealthily swapping them to the correct way, depending on who's unloading the dishwasher. I said I'd ask Mumsnet and whatever you say will be the way in future (even if it is the wrong way).

A, surely that's obvious as knifes come before forks in a place setting.

bruffin · 23/04/2016 13:22

depends on the size of the spaces in the cutlery drawer. Mine is wide then two narrows so goes spoons , knives , forks

SouthDownsSunshine · 23/04/2016 13:22

A. Of course.

SwedishEdith · 23/04/2016 13:23

I agree that it's knife before fork as a right-handed person would pick up knife then fork making this up as I go along

SabineUndine · 23/04/2016 13:23

I just chuck it all in any old how and there's only me and the cat here and he has no thumbs to use cutlery with.

Pinkheart5915 · 23/04/2016 13:23

A, is the only way in this house

FaithAscending · 23/04/2016 13:23

A makes far more sense since it's the order they are in on the table! I am for A, DH is more of a 'sling them in wherever' type.

Dellarobia · 23/04/2016 13:24

B

Pimpernel · 23/04/2016 13:25

We have spoons, forks, knives. Surely forks have to go to the left of knives so that you can grab forks in your left hand and knives in your right hand ready to go on the table?

Witchend · 23/04/2016 13:27

Knife fork spoon here. But not much thought into it really. Does it matter?

DinosaursRoar · 23/04/2016 13:31

We're B here too. Your poor DH, he's just been trying to fix your mistake.

SecretNutellaFix · 23/04/2016 13:31

Knives, then forks, then big spoons, then teaspoons then the big knives/ utensils like veg peeler; pizza cutter, measuring spoons etc.

Blue2014 · 23/04/2016 13:31

Urggh Confused you B people are very wrong Wink

Of course it's A - the order it goes on the table

CauliflowerBalti · 23/04/2016 13:34

Gosh. Spoons, forks, knives here.

Hanging my head in shame.

MrsMainwaring · 23/04/2016 13:35

A obviously !

Fluffyears · 23/04/2016 13:36

I always use a fork in my right hand (I am right handed) as I can't use it with my left hand. In my drawer it's spoons, knives the forks but I couldn't give a crap what way it's organised.

SoupDragon · 23/04/2016 13:38

Spoon fork knife so the bluntest thing is at the front.

OurBlanche · 23/04/2016 13:39

B in the drawer, A on the table.

Never thought about it before Smile

Unescorted · 23/04/2016 13:40

In table order

TheWeeBabySeamus1 · 23/04/2016 13:40

I'm with you OP, Fork, Knife, Spoon.

TeacupDrama · 23/04/2016 13:41

B

newmumwithquestions · 23/04/2016 13:44

Spoon, fork, knife here. So you're both wrong!
