Cutlery argument - tell me who's right?

The order of cutlery in the cutlery drawer. Should it go

A. Forks, knives, spoons

or

B. Knives, Forks, Spoons

Things have come to a head today after months of us both stealthily swapping them to the correct way, depending on who's unloading the dishwasher. I said I'd ask Mumsnet and whatever you say will be the way in future (even if it is the wrong way).

From left to right: spoon fork knife

pearlylum · 23/04/2016 15:32

I empty the contents of the dishwasher cutlery basket straight into the drawer.
It winds up my OH. I try to make as much noise as possible if he is in the room.
We have a laugh every time.

Redglitter · 23/04/2016 15:35

Fork knife spoon - the way they are on the table

Ilovetorrentialrain · 23/04/2016 15:47

B because it's the way they're always (in my mind) listed. That's how they are, left to right, in my cutlery drawer too.

ExtraHotLatteToGo · 23/04/2016 15:48

B

You say knife, fork, spoon for a reason. It's the order you use them and makes sense to have them in that order in the drawer. We'd have one less knife and one lumpy patch in the back garden if anyone tried to arrange them incorrectly (the A's, you know who you are 😡). 😁

CandyFlossBrain · 23/04/2016 15:49

Spoons, forks, knives. I approach the cutlery drawer from the left in my kitchen, so sharp, cutty things are best placed furthest away.

GreenMarkerPen · 23/04/2016 15:49

spoons -forks -knifes -sharp knifes

ExtraHotLatteToGo · 23/04/2016 15:50

Digging the hole for nightwanderer immediately....

FinallyFreeFromItAll · 23/04/2016 15:50

B.

Knives, forks, spoons, tea spoons, sharp knives, table spoons, baby spoons.

Sharp knives are in middle to stop little DC reaching them.

GreenMarkerPen · 23/04/2016 15:51

oh and our drawer is front to back, not side to side.

GreaseIsNotTheWord · 23/04/2016 15:58

A. Forks, knives, spoons.

Teaspoons horizontal at the bottom.

ParadiseCity · 23/04/2016 16:01

B. Knives Forks Spoons

It stands for 'no fucking shit'. Wink

Awalkinthepark1 · 23/04/2016 16:42

B

Knackered69 · 23/04/2016 16:46

Knife fork spoon and twatty bits (the odd broken chopstick, skewer 🍢 etc...)

DoreenLethal · 23/04/2016 16:49

We don't even have a cutlery drawer. We keep it in the drainer thingy.

ThroughThinkandThing · 23/04/2016 17:18

B. Very definitely B.

OzzieFem · 23/04/2016 18:07

Knives, Forks, Spoons. To the right, large cutting knives, roast forks etc, and. across the bottom, teaspoons, skewers, peelers and other small equipment.

PestoSwimissimos · 23/04/2016 18:11

B

It just has to be B

BaronessEllaSaturday · 23/04/2016 18:17

from l to r spoons forks knives. No choice in this house as the knife section of the cutlery drawer is longer and is the only one they fit in.

spanieleyes · 23/04/2016 18:19

Forks, knives and spoons. Why on earth would you store the cutlery in a different order to how it is laid on the table Confused

KP86 · 23/04/2016 18:21

Spoon, fork, knife in ours

dementedma · 23/04/2016 18:28

Going to upset people but in our house it's "open the drawer, hurl it all in". No order. We also hang the loo roll any old way and use pegs of any colour.

RedOnHerHedd · 23/04/2016 18:42

Forks, knives, spoons

This is LAW!
