...to not wear pantyliners often?

This just occurred to me (for absolutely no reason other than being bored in the loo)...do people actually wear them all the time? I only wear them for the tail-end of my period, and then go without until the next one. Is that normal, or am I gross?

I don't wear "trousers" I wear either leggings or jeggins. No longer a juicy lucy as done the menopause. Wash the above every day. Knickers would have to be huge Grin otherwise they roll under my belly and annoy the hell out of me. Therefore i don't see the point.

dairymilkmonster · 13/04/2016 19:40

I have never used them!

SecretWitch · 13/04/2016 19:45

I've been in the US for 25 years and never have been advised to douche by anyone, nor have I been overhwhelmed by the feminine hygiene aisle in Walmart..
I have never worn a panty liner...

Would like to change knockers though...very small size please...these huge tits are killing me!!

AliceScarlett · 13/04/2016 19:49

Pretty much every day, especially since I've come off the pill. Crusty otherwise BlushGrin

Notso · 13/04/2016 19:53

I don't see the point of them, surely they do the job that pants were invented for. I loathe sanitary towels, hated having to wear pads after childbirth too.

CarsonTheButler · 13/04/2016 19:57

Maybe it's just me pearl-clutching down the aisles of Wal-Mart and Target, then.

Shallishanti · 13/04/2016 19:59

does no one use them for ...er...post-coital freshness?

EmGee · 13/04/2016 20:01

Always wear them. Can't bear the 'moist' feeling if I don't. It just feels much more comfortable. However, I always wear unscented, cheap ones - it really gets on my wick how many are now scented. Made that mistake once and got thrush.

YoJesse · 13/04/2016 20:01

Good point shallishanti in the past I've used them as a cum catcher.

toldmywrath · 13/04/2016 20:02

Squeegy does Shallishanti Grin

I've never been to Nandos either.

timelytess · 13/04/2016 20:04

Only in households with a penis-beaker.

BingoBonkers · 13/04/2016 20:04

I wear them everyday. I can't leave the house with one in my pants.

Chipsahoy · 13/04/2016 20:11

I wear them when ovulating, and at tail end of period. However now I have a cup I may start using that during ovulation and tail end of period.
Only use reusable panty liners, I hate the disposables.

EddieStobbart · 13/04/2016 20:11

I did until about 6 months ago because I was feeling vaguely thrushy a lot. Then I got fed up with feeling vaguely thrushy and started googling things to help - came across suggestions which included not wearing liners as they stop the air circulating. I stopped and no longer feel at all thrushy. Am Blush that I basically had low level self inflicted thrush for so long.

EasilyDistracted21 · 13/04/2016 20:12

I sometimes wear one if I know im having sex later and wont have a chance to take of the knickers ive had on all day and put clean ones on

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 13/04/2016 20:16

Snap on almost all counts! Reusable panty liner on last day of period and a couple of days mid-cycle.
Only difference is that I use a cup throughout my period proper - by day 4 I am a bit fed up with it and hardly bleeding at all, so the liner is instead of the cup.

Gosh, I hate the word 'panty'.

coffeetasteslikeshit · 13/04/2016 20:19

Never used them and also never been to Nandos :)

OddSocksHighHeels · 13/04/2016 20:25

Nell agree with you about panty. I don't know why I hate the word so much.

JeepersMcoy · 13/04/2016 20:26

I get a lot of discharge, but just have good comfy pants that catch it all. I figure that's the point of them.

I had no idea anyone actually wore pantyliners until I came on mumsnet. I just thought they were one of those crazy things you saw on shelves that everyone ignored.

proudmom135 · 13/04/2016 20:26

I don't wear panty liners, too! Grin

TwentyCupsOfTea · 13/04/2016 20:27

Prepared to be told I am disgusting, but I never ever use any sort of sanitary wear. My periods are very light and I notmally feel when I'm about to let blood out so can just nip to the loo then. If I can't hold it Til I get to the loo then there is only ever a small amount of blood in my knickers. I get horrendous thrush from most protection and am allergic to the sticking part of the pad.
I'm sure that's gross to a lot of you, but I've happily used nothing for years now.

PetrolBastard · 13/04/2016 20:28

EasilyDistracted21

Yes, I forgot about that! Guilty here too.

pearlylum · 13/04/2016 20:28

twenty- each to their own. I couldn't do that though, I would soak the furniture!

Forgetmenotblue · 13/04/2016 20:33

Go for it twenty. Thrush is so bloody awful.

jeepers where do you get your comfy pants? I've bought some shockers recently that will be binned very soon. Too narrow to catch anything. And not enough elastic to stay put. They creep about everywhere. Tis awful.

toldmywrath · 13/04/2016 20:33

pearlylum- I used to soak the furniture even when wearing tampon & super sanitary pad at the same time (I'd sit on an old household towel whilst indoors) My age has mostly put a stop to periods, thankfully.
