(Lighthearted) - AIBU to spend £18 on a shower oil?!

Really I'm just looking for you all to talk me into this and say it's fine. I normally spend £2 - £3 but recently got a free sample of L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil and I'm not exaggerating here but IT's AMAZING. My sample is nearly out (although it lasted nearly two weeks!) and I really want to get a bottle but just feel like it's crazy indulgence!

Get it!

And tell me more about it!

Have you looked on ebay/amazon to get it cheaper?

whyistherumgone · 13/04/2016 16:44

Ooh good shout! No I haven't. It's an odd one - whiffs a bit in the bottle and not in a good way and comes out very oily but then goes creamy when applied to damp skin. A tiny bit goes a really long way, really really moisturising (I'm having terrible issues with cellulite on my legs and although it hasn't got rid of it, my skin is definitely firmer after this tiny period of time!). I think it might be my HG shower product. There's also a moisturiser in the range....god help me. I don't work for the brand or anything by the way, never used a single one of their products before and have to admit I thought it was an 'older lady' brand, but I am SOLD.

DO IT!

< Instantly goes to L'Occitane website to buy Almond Shower Oil >

MaxPepsi · 13/04/2016 16:54

Sounds interesting!

If you can't justify to yourself just yet they do a travel size which is cheaper!!

Heyheyheygoodbye · 13/04/2016 16:55

I love the Almond shower oil. It smells amazing when using it and leaves skin absolutely gorgeous. I've got a little travel one which I take with me when I do away - it's not for DH! Grin

whyistherumgone · 13/04/2016 17:09

You are all definitely helping - I saw the travel sized one Max - just wondered if the bigger one would actually be better value.

Heyhey I was so pleasantly surprised, normally I just pick whichever shower gel is on offer but this is something else, I want it in my grubby little mitts dammit!

I use it, and it's lovely. You only need a titchy bit, and you can buy a refill pouch, that makes it a leeeeetle cheaper.

So YANBU, if I'm not!

ALemonyPea · 13/04/2016 17:15

Definitely worth it. I buy it all the time, great to shave legs with, soooo smooth.

NeedsAsockamnesty · 13/04/2016 17:15

I like their lavender one. I don't know if they do it with the one you are using but with mine you can buy them in refils a bit cheaper

Ginmakesitallok · 13/04/2016 17:18

I got some from Mil for Christmas, it's ok. I'd prefer it to lather more.

padkin · 13/04/2016 17:19

I always buy it in duty free as considerably cheaper there. But I have bought full price too as its sooo gorgeous. I even resorted to buying through QVC as they had a 2 for 1 deal. I say go for it.

Heyheyheygoodbye · 13/04/2016 17:20

Why I do like L'Occitane stuff in general. I love the Verbena hand soap, and DH bought me their Rhubarb and Grapefruit perfume for Christmas and I love it.

I also adore their Rose hand cream even though usually I don't like rose scents. The only thing I've been disappointed by are the body lotions - a bit thin and powdery and the Almond one smelled like Play-Doh!

Nanasueathome · 13/04/2016 17:20

Check out QVC for the almond shower oil
They regularly have offers

Skittlesss · 13/04/2016 17:20

I got a huge one in their last TSV offer on QVC

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 13/04/2016 17:21

Do you wash with it or is it an in-shower moisturiser?

Sign up for L'Occitane newsletter and then sit tight and they will email you with special offers on an almost daily basis! You can get some good ones though, lots of free gifts etc and you always get free samples if you order online.

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 13/04/2016 19:25

I've got this stuff- I use it in the bath to make it nice and milky. But i don't think it is as good as it was a few years ago- you seem to have to use loads in the bath. maybe i should use it in the shower instead- what do you put it on? Puff type thing?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/04/2016 19:35

I wondered if it was the L'Occitane Almond Oil Grin

Years ago, I made a mistake and bought the Almond Showe Gel, the bottles were near identical. From the reviews on QVC, lots if us made the same mistake.
It isn't anywhere near as nice .

Have a look on QVC, they have a 250ml + 500ml refill (£30+£5 p&p) the larger one is out of stck.

Notagainmun · 13/04/2016 19:51

I adore their almond shower oil. I love the smell and the way it foams gently when you rinse it off. It leaves my skin lovely. It is a lovely start to the day, puts me in a good mood.

I ask for this for birthdays, mothers' day etc. I also love their lavender range and hand creams.

Notagainmun · 13/04/2016 19:52

Their hair care range is pure luxury too but I can't afford it often.

ghostyslovesheep · 13/04/2016 19:56

Do it - it's my one luxury - I LOVE it it's divine x

whyistherumgone · 13/04/2016 19:56

I bloody love MN. Bargain on QVC - it's a done deal, thanks! And good to know I'm not alone - there's no looking back now I've come across this stuff.

OP posts:
ghostyslovesheep · 13/04/2016 19:58

and yes you wash with it - slap it on - rub in - rinse off - yummy Grin

MakingJudySmile · 13/04/2016 19:58

You can get shower oil?!

Well I never!!!

Doesn't it pour out of the bottle like crazy and then leave you weeping because a couple quid (possibly over estimation) went down the plug hole?

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 13/04/2016 20:03

i love almondy things....is it a nice smell?....that QVC offer is really good value

...do they, QVC, torment you forever if you order anything from them?
