To find farts funny!

My DP and I disagree about whether farts are funny! I find them funny and giggle about them along with the DCs, immature I know Grin DP doesn't find them even remotely funny and tells the kids off for doing it (and I can never keep a straight face and he gets cross at me for undermining him!).
Are farts funny in your house?

End up single cos we don't fart to amuse our husbands? Seriously? Grin

CrystalMcPistol · 11/04/2016 14:09

Meh, as ridiculous as the person saying women will end up single for laughing at fart jokes.

Is that not also worthy of a Grin

No?

BlondieLoxie · 11/04/2016 14:12

There's a bloke on relationship board saying he loves his wife but it puts him off sex as she keeps just sitting there doing it. A lot to be said there. Don't blame him!

CrystalMcPistol · 11/04/2016 14:14

Who's blaming him? Confused

CrystalMcPistol · 11/04/2016 14:17

Finding the odd fart gag amusing is a bit different to taking up residence on the sofa as a dedicated farting machine.

BlondieLoxie · 11/04/2016 14:21

Mean to read as 'I don't blame him'

MrsS1990 · 11/04/2016 14:23

I think there's other ways to amuse your husbands without leaking foul gas and laughing but ya know ...

CrystalMcPistol · 11/04/2016 14:26

Sure there are. But I was responding to your Grin . Would you not also Grin at the person who gave the dark warning that women (or was it ladies?) will end up single is they don't stop finding farts funny?

BlondieLoxie · 11/04/2016 14:48

I said ladies and fail to see how that's an issue in itself? But sorry, it's just gross. I can't fathom how anyone would be able to get turned on by someone who did that in front of their partner 'for amusement'. I like a good laugh and don't take myself too seriously BUT I couldn't possibly think find that amusing... just how exactly is it funny?!

CrystalMcPistol · 11/04/2016 14:51

Don't you see that you don't have to find it funny? Different people are amused by different things and yet the world keeps turning and people keep managing to find someone to hook up with.

BlondieLoxie · 11/04/2016 15:04

I'm allowed my opinion and contributedo to this thread with it.

CrystalMcPistol · 11/04/2016 15:06

Indeed you are. I especially enjoyed your dire warning of spinsterhood for all the ladies who laugh at fart jokes.

MamaLazarou · 11/04/2016 15:11

It depends on the timing, I think. I don't think farts themselves are inherently funny, and the smell certainly isn't.

DH has never farted in front of me, in 15 years together. I think it's a bit weird, personally. I have let the odd surprise squeaker out by accident but would usually go out of the room to let off. I think farting in front of each other would spoil the romance somewhat although I do realise that all couples are different and that's just us.

I was discussing this on FB the other day and tons of women piled on to tell me I was uptight and they felt sorry for me and DH!

MrsS1990 · 11/04/2016 15:15

No. Cos I would dump a partner If he farted all the time

CrystalMcPistol · 11/04/2016 15:18

To be honest the only farts I find funny are the ones that escape when they're not supposed to. Like my very proper Great Aunt who is a stickler for manners, when she accidentally farted we all laughed.

Would I be with someone who thought it was funny to fart and then stick my head under the duvet? No.

puzzledbyadream · 11/04/2016 15:42

My ex-bf never, ever farted in front of me. I found that really weird. He was also disgusted if I ever accidentally let one go. Hence he's an ex.
