To find farts funny!

My DP and I disagree about whether farts are funny! I find them funny and giggle about them along with the DCs, immature I know Grin DP doesn't find them even remotely funny and tells the kids off for doing it (and I can never keep a straight face and he gets cross at me for undermining him!).
Are farts funny in your house?

YABU. If you want to fart when others are around, go to the bathroom. Unless its a toddler or a dog discovering farts for the first time, there is nothing remotely funny about it.

We were once at a couple of new friend's place. I desperately needed to let one off after stuffing myself silly on Chinese. Using the excuse of having a nosy round their garden, I legged it out the back door. Was just about to 'relax', turned round, and DH and hosts had all trotted after me to 'enjoy' the garden too. I had to admit exactly why I'd taken a sudden interest in their flowers, before relieving my bloatedness. Luckily they turned out to be as common as us and found it fucking hilarious!

Farts are great! They remind us that underneath all the civilised bollocks we're just animals with digestive systems that turn food into poo. And they frequently make excellent comedy noises.

I think there's something a bit 'tribal' about the enjoyment of farts. You can laugh at those emanating from your own family and friends but people farting in public who you are not close to can be unpleasant.

Every single post on here that says farts aren't funny make me think that farts are even funnier than I previously thought.
I send voice notes of my farts to my siblings on Whatsapp.

I find some farts funny. Someone at work who prides themselves on being suave and urbane bent over to pick up a pen during a board meeting and farted very loudly. Yes, I laughed. We all laughed. And there was a Dame and a Sir among those chortling.

Pull my finger type gags are not so funny. And any bloke who'd find it hilarious to fart in my face would soon be banished from my life.

But yes, the odd fart can be most amusing.

And thus ends my treatise on farts.

Speaking, I can't hold a fart in for very long at all. If it's coming, it's coming! I've trained myself to fart silently in polite company and if I have gut-rot and it's likely to smell I'll do my best to make a swift exit, but sometimes it has to be a really swift exit.

I wonder if those who find farting in company totally unacceptable have some sort of extra control over their farts that enables them to hold it for 10 or 20 minutes? Some of us don't have that and have to decide in the next few seconds where we will let it go.
