... to have not named my baby yet? (6 weeks, tomorrow)

Hi there - DS will be 6 weeks, tomorrow Sad I have a handful of names I love, but it's becoming impossible. I have tried phoning the registration office; they will not allow me to move my appointment (it's tomorrow)...

Has anyone else been in this situation? Family, and friends, think I'm being unfair to DS...

Oliver came out of the hat, but it's the most popular. Because of that doubt, do I knock it off? Confused

He's gorgeous Flowers

And IMHO he looks like a Matthew James (which I know isn't one of your name combo options, but still...)

Matthew James.

Matthew James.

Matthew James.

Yep - definitely a Matthew James.

(Disclaimer: I may have a DS with middle name Matthew and first name James so may have a slight preference for these names...)

Make sure you've also got your middle name sorted....we spent so much energy on the first name we got to the appointment and went "Oh shit we haven't decided on the middle name" and just put them both in Shock

moreshitandnofuckingredemption · 30/03/2016 16:31

He's a Matthew

moreshitandnofuckingredemption · 30/03/2016 16:32

LOL at Chesney!!

MackerelOfFact · 30/03/2016 16:32

I think Oliver is a lovely name and it suits him. He's gorgeous.

ScottishSnowflake · 30/03/2016 16:33

Matthew Charles or
Oliver Charles

Either are beautiful names - many congratulations Thanks

OracleofDelphi · 30/03/2016 16:34

We did what others have suggested by ranking each name out of 5..... then we added up the scores ( so I gave it 5, he gave it 3 = 8) and ranked them out of 10! Seems a bit odd now in reflection but I was getting so bored not getting anywhere with the name.

One we both really really liked was DD first name and my favourite (but one of his least faves) was her second name.

For what its worth out of your selection I only like Aidan, Elliot/Elliott, and Tommy but thats just IMO! Good luck
Pick one and then he will sort of just become that name

happy2bhomely · 30/03/2016 16:36

He looks like a Matthew to me!

Congratulations. He is lovely.

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 30/03/2016 16:36

We left it to the last minute, too, until then he was Wee Man!

What about names in a hat? If you pull one out, see how you feel about it. If you're disappointed, pull another one out.

If you pick names and decide against them, you can always change them but it's a real palaver. We're in the process of changing ds surname and it's a bit of hassle we didn't really need Confused

guiltynetter · 30/03/2016 16:37

you are definitely being U. I think one of the first jobs/responsibilities as a parent is to give him a name. I agree picking out of a hat if the list is too overwhelming.

VolvicTouchofFruit · 30/03/2016 16:39

We pulled Oliver out, we love the name, but it was very much "oh" Grin

We did it again; out came Elliot/Elliott...

We are very happy with that Smile

But you all say Matthew! ShockConfusedSad

Elliott Matthew? It decides on the spelling then - they both have double t Grin

Matthew Charles.

He's definitely a Matthew. Which means he's absolutely a piece of heaven and will be your pride and joy.

(I don't have a Matthew myself, no, not me!)

In addition, Matthew means 'he whom we have prayed for' or 'gift of the Lord'. Rather appropriate for a child whose parents went through so much to have him.

NeedsAsockamnesty · 30/03/2016 16:40

Nobody gives two hoots about having two lots of double t

WhoKnowsWhereTheChocolateGoes · 30/03/2016 16:41

I prefer Matthew Elliott

littleleftie · 30/03/2016 16:41

Matthew - and congratulations he is gorgeous!

cuntycowfacemonkey · 30/03/2016 16:41

Eliot without doubt

SaggingTits · 30/03/2016 16:41

He looks like a Matthew. Or Ollie (Olivier)

VolvicTouchofFruit · 30/03/2016 16:41

Well, that makes it harder Hmm I kind of care...

If not, it would be Elliot Charles, or James.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 30/03/2016 16:43

DS2's middle name is Matthew, I like Matty or Mat when his name is shortened.

NameChange30 · 30/03/2016 16:43

If you're both happy with Elliot(t), GO FOR IT!

He is lovely by the way Smile

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 30/03/2016 16:44

He suits Elliot more than Matthew ,imo.

Katarzyna79 · 30/03/2016 16:45

OP Oliver is cute from your list i liked oliver or noah. Since you like Oliver and picked it go with it, decision made!
