... to have not named my baby yet? (6 weeks, tomorrow)

Hi there - DS will be 6 weeks, tomorrow Sad I have a handful of names I love, but it's becoming impossible. I have tried phoning the registration office; they will not allow me to move my appointment (it's tomorrow)...

Has anyone else been in this situation? Family, and friends, think I'm being unfair to DS...

But he looks like a Matthew

Notonthestairs · 30/03/2016 16:18

He's gorgeous. A vote for Tom from me.

We waited three weeks to name DD - my IL's were going ga-ga hassling us which made it worse. Plumped for a name (which was never on our list) and which I immediately regretted but it's turned out to suit her so much better than the longer, fancy names I had come up with. I cant imagine her with any other name now.

EweAreHere · 30/03/2016 16:18

Go to the country's baby naming list for 2015 and pick the least popular name on your list. Sorted.

hellsbellsmelons · 30/03/2016 16:18

If I'd had a boy it would have been Alexander or Jerome? WTF did Jerome come from?
I know someone called Cosmo.
If it was now I really like Ezra.
Not helping I know.
But from your list I like Matthew best.

ollieplimsoles · 30/03/2016 16:19

Another vote for Matthew here op! He's so gorgeous!

hellsbellsmelons · 30/03/2016 16:20

Oh no - cross post with your photo.
Now I've seen him he's definitely a Nathan.

HappinessLivesHere · 30/03/2016 16:21

Definitely an Aidan. Not naming him will be a big red flag to h.v as it's usually a sign if not being able to bond... No name= disassociation. Not that I'm saying that's the case, just something to bare in mind!

Pooseyfrumpture · 30/03/2016 16:22

Matthew Thomas James.

Hedge your bets Grin

peachypips · 30/03/2016 16:22

Can I just ask if you've suffered with a lot of anxiety either during or after the birth? Not being able to settle on a name is a common marker for postnatal mental illness. Obv ignore if not but just checking you are ok!

BBQsAreSooooOverrated · 30/03/2016 16:22

My dh and I ranked each name /5 separately without the other seeing and the one with the highest score won. :)

starry0ne · 30/03/2016 16:23

Can I suggest you knock off your least favourite...That might at least narrow it down..He is gorgeous no matter what you call him..

thereareworsethingsicoulddo · 30/03/2016 16:23

He really does look like a Matthew! Congratulations btw Thanks

DelphiniumBlue · 30/03/2016 16:23

What a gorgeous boy! He looks like his name is Noah. That was not my favourite name on your list btw, I had been about to say go for Charles, nn Charlie, but to me he's very clearly Noah!

VolvicTouchofFruit · 30/03/2016 16:24

Thanks all!

Oh dear, that's not the case at all - he's my world - I love him to bits, we are a proper little family...

3 years of trying, and IVF, to get him! Sad I think that's why we are finding it so hard, he'll be our one and only Grin

I'm about to look at the least popular, and do the hat thing Smile

splendide · 30/03/2016 16:24

Yeah he's totally a Cosmo! Look at his little cute tongue!

LovelyBranches · 30/03/2016 16:25

I once listened to a radio show where parents couldn't pick the childs name. The mum was called Naomi and the dad was Joseph. Loads of suggestions came in, but someone suggested Jonah. I was a way of incorporating both of their names. I thought it was a really sweet suggestion and that little boy must be about 10 now.

DH and I did this with our names, Darius is the closest we got to a 'joint' name. Ds isn't called Darius.

WhoKnowsWhereTheChocolateGoes · 30/03/2016 16:25

Matthew!

Claireshh · 30/03/2016 16:26

Noah Oliver

rumbelina · 30/03/2016 16:27

I did this with my cats, just referred to them as 'the girl cat' and 'the boy cat' as we couldn't choose between names. They never got names as we left it too long and nothing stuck after that. Sorry that probably doesn't help.....go with Thomas :)

TheCraicDealer · 30/03/2016 16:28

I would've gone for Thomas from your list originally, but having seen him he looks like an Elliot Charles. He's such a sweetie!

HighwayDragon1 · 30/03/2016 16:28

Matthew is so underused these days, timeless too.

Matthew Charles

bekindtome · 30/03/2016 16:28

Personally I like Elliott and Matthew. Hope you manage to make your choice by tomorrow.

nemno · 30/03/2016 16:28

He's a Matthew. Congratulations, he's gorgeous.

megletthesecond · 30/03/2016 16:29

Elliot or Oliver.

hellsbellsmelons · 30/03/2016 16:29

he'll be our one and only
Well that makes it easier.
It has to be Chesney! Grin
