... to have not named my baby yet? (6 weeks, tomorrow)

Hi there - DS will be 6 weeks, tomorrow Sad I have a handful of names I love, but it's becoming impossible. I have tried phoning the registration office; they will not allow me to move my appointment (it's tomorrow)...

Has anyone else been in this situation? Family, and friends, think I'm being unfair to DS...

What does he look like?

DH and I had a shortlist but picked the name(s) he looked like (Oliver James). To an extent is doesn't matter what you like, it's what suits him and his personality.

Leeds2 · 30/03/2016 16:07

I'd go for Matthew or Thomas from your list.

CalleighDoodle · 30/03/2016 16:07

Id go with aidan as that was on my short list too :)

CalleighDoodle · 30/03/2016 16:07

My ds middle name is thomas.

Lalalili · 30/03/2016 16:08

YANBU. That's why there are deadlines for naming babies. Some of us would never be able to decide.

We picked a name for one of our dc, after agonising over the list, in the waiting room at the registry office. I was too tired to think clearly and realised afterwards that I actually preferred a different one. But dc now loves their name and it didn't really matter in the long term. The names on your list look lovely. Can't go wrong whatever you choose.

CalleighDoodle · 30/03/2016 16:09

Oh i do like mordecai!

Potatoface2 · 30/03/2016 16:09

i think its the law that a baby has to be registered by 45 days....thats why they wont let you change the appt

seagreengirl · 30/03/2016 16:10

We couldn't decide for either of ours and left it until the last day. We even changed our minds on the way to the register office for DD and added another middle name that we hadn't even considered before. I'm not good with choices.

VolvicTouchofFruit · 30/03/2016 16:12

I'm glad some of you had names, when you found out the sex, but DH, and I, obviously didn't... Well, he isn't fussed... He has told me to choose it Confused that makes it harder!

Well, I'll attach a photo...

I think I'm going to draw the name out of a hat - that's a good idea! Smile

Gazelda · 30/03/2016 16:12

Ohhh, he's a treasure!

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 30/03/2016 16:13

He looks like Elliot.

landrover · 30/03/2016 16:13

Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!

theAntsareMyFriends · 30/03/2016 16:14

So sweet.

Also agree - Matthew.

landrover · 30/03/2016 16:14

Elliot with no middle name. (I have a middle name, bloody nuisance!)

JenniferAnistonsHair · 30/03/2016 16:14

I think he looks like a Charlie, Louis or Thomas. He's gorgeous, congrats 💐

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 30/03/2016 16:14

Matthew or Louis from your list.

We never rush to name our DC. We usually took two or three weeks to get round to decide from the shortlist.

I like Cosmo too.

Katarzyna79 · 30/03/2016 16:15

ive got the same predicament OP 34 weeks no name don't know gender. you can help me with a muslim girls name i don't like any. Husband leaving it to me, he's left every single name to me in the past.

from your list i like Oliver and Noah, i think id pick Noah only because i rarely hear it in England, heard it a lot in Scotland.

your little one is gorgeous bless!!

Mumofone1972 · 30/03/2016 16:16

He looks like a Harry or an Edward!!

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 30/03/2016 16:16

Gorgeous OP. Louis is gorgeous I mean.

Just seeing what you think of that, OP Grin

sweetkitty · 30/03/2016 16:16

He's gorgeous I'm thinking Elliot is my favourite also depends on your surname.

I wasn't getting at you by saying we had our names chosen at the 20 week scan just that we are all so different some people know straight away some can't chose.

Same with names, one name some people hate it some love it.

Peasandsweetcorn · 30/03/2016 16:16

It really doesn't matter what you call him. It is simply a label to distinguish him from everyone else (just bear in mind that with Thomas, Oliver & Noah at least surnames are probably going to have to be involved at nursery & school to help distinguish him). Which name you choose won't impact on what his personality is like, whether he is clever, whether he is good at sport etc.
Which of those do you like saying (shouting, nagging etc!) the most?

NeedsAsockamnesty · 30/03/2016 16:16

I registered my last one past the deadline the world did not end

Luc28 · 30/03/2016 16:16

Oliver James 😀
