To think that little bow in the middle of your bra is condescending

I got two new nursing bras today and noticed they both had little ribbon type bows in the centre cleavage.. I thought why on earth do I need a small bow between my boobs? Went to check all my other bras and every single one (even the most unsexy utilitarian bra) has a bow. Aibu to think a grown woman does not need a ribbon bow between her breasts? Or have I got too much time on my hands?!

That bow doesn't bother me. The bows at the top of the cup, where the strap is attached - they piss me off, though.

Not quite on topic but I always think this about little girls pants. However it very much helps my 2yo put them on the right way and she is quite affronted when she puts on her boys pair others.

Maybe it is cos we are stupid...

Indeed. Stupid little bow. Mine is meant to have a bow AND a little diamanté crystal... Only found out when I tried to source extra bras online after a fitting, that my one had had the crystal nicked. Or maybe it was cut off by the shop for being too silly. Hmm.

Just checked mine, no bow. Possibly eaten by washer though, as the bra is super-old and gives me four boobs as it's a size too small. Definitely patronising, though.

Is this off the back of the recent blog by a woman who railed against the bows on her knickers?

How can a tiny ribbon bow be 'condescending'? It lacks any mental capacity and knowledge of the human condition to condesend.

YABU. I have bows, jewels, dangly motifs. Ironically, the bra I have on now has nothing.

I thought they were to show you which way was the correct way round, since the insides of bras don't really have seams like normal clothes do.

Maybe this is the law in the bra industry. I must have a look see at mine to check, I wear a lot of sports bras so don't think they have one. I did notice they had a little bow on the top/middle of these plain pants I bought.

Even if every single irritating, annoying or fundamentally wrong thing on the planet was resolved in my favour in the next five minutes, I still couldn't rouse myself to give a toss about the bra ribbon.

I have a nightdress with a bow and a pointless tiny metal disc advertising the designer which I have cut off because I don't want it sticking in me. At least he bows are safe.

I just cut them off if I don't like them.

If they were to indicate the right way round I would find that condescending - I've never tried to put a bra on inside-out.

I can't honestly find a bow any more or less of a problem than lacy bras, or patterns, or colours, we don't need those either.

YANBU. I hate them and it's incredibly difficult to find bras that don't have them. Who decided that all women want frou-frou bows??

I have a couple of nightdresses with a chest pocket. Not sure I know what they are for.
