To think that little bow in the middle of your bra is condescending

I got two new nursing bras today and noticed they both had little ribbon type bows in the centre cleavage.. I thought why on earth do I need a small bow between my boobs? Went to check all my other bras and every single one (even the most unsexy utilitarian bra) has a bow. Aibu to think a grown woman does not need a ribbon bow between her breasts? Or have I got too much time on my hands?!

Personally I object more to the twee little bows on the front of 99.9% of flat shoes. Just because I don't always want to wear heels doesn't mean I need to prettify my shoes with ridiculous bows.

I would love it if bows on underwear was the biggest issue in my life. Some of mine do, some do not - I wholly do not care. As long as they keep my boobs from not being down by my knees, they could be covered the the bloody things for all I care.

Actually, I can think of a use for bows - it makes it much easier to center bras sometimes (especially maternity ones). Nothing worse than boobs being off center and end up re-ajusting oneself during the day.

Mine have little rosebuds (Triumph Amourette). I like them. DD's have a little bow and some very pretty lace embellishments. I also have at least three pairs of shoes with bows on too.

I am still laughing at Akira's post, two pages back. Why don't men have a picture of a little car or something so they know their pants are the right way round? Because darling, there's a hole at the front to fit their little winkles through . I'm not sure if that's condescending or not.

I think a little anarchy symbol would make a nice substitute.

My bra bow has been useful today because I've used it to rub an itchy spot in between my boobs. Bows on big pants work well on scratching my belly button or surrounding area. Isn't that what they are there for?

I always figured they were there so they could swap between button, bow, rosebud etc or have slightly different colour button, bow, rosebud etc each season and thus justify selling new bras at expensive new prices when you can get the almost identical thing from a Bicester Village type outlet store or TK Maxx etc for relative peanuts because you don' t have this season's up to date decoration...

meh. guess where I shop and get my naice bras from for a few quid instead of ££££ because they have last season's pale blue rosebud instead of this season's pale pink bow

1. You need a trim to cover up the no-womans-land gap between the tops of the wires
2. is it some hang over of tradition when corset or bodice laces were tied in a bow? I know corsets laced at the back...

Having said that, YY to more bras with less frilly/flowery/beribboned designs.
