To think that little bow in the middle of your bra is condescending

I got two new nursing bras today and noticed they both had little ribbon type bows in the centre cleavage.. I thought why on earth do I need a small bow between my boobs? Went to check all my other bras and every single one (even the most unsexy utilitarian bra) has a bow. Aibu to think a grown woman does not need a ribbon bow between her breasts? Or have I got too much time on my hands?!

"what do you keep in a pj chest pocket ?"

An open faced gentleman's Victorian pocket watch.

MrsJayy · 29/03/2016 21:59

Im obviously not utilising the pocket

badg3r · 29/03/2016 22:01

Wow. Cursory check of my underwear drawer and it would appear ALL of my clean bras and pants have bows. I never noticed. Oops. I have unwittingly been sporting two stealth bows every day since god knows when...

stubbornstains · 29/03/2016 22:03

It's the patriarchy in our pants drawer Grin.

dudsville · 29/03/2016 22:05

This has given me a giggle. I started imagining mens underpants with little cowboy boots or footballs on them... and then realised my oh does wear funny themed pants. My bras don't have bows. But I'm currently wearing Thunder Pants, a big red pair that make me feel like superman!

BaronessBomburst · 29/03/2016 22:06

I have bows. They're all squished and folded over as there is no room between my tits for a fecking bow.
And I am not 5.

dudsville · 29/03/2016 22:07

Can adults indulge in harmless whimsy?

hazeyjane · 29/03/2016 22:08

I might stitch a mini hammer and sickle to mine, subversive.

YakTriangle · 29/03/2016 22:08

PJ/nightie small chest pockets are for keeping a biscuit in, in case you wake up hungry at 3am. A ginger nut is the ideal size.

AppleSetsSail · 29/03/2016 22:10

I like little bows.

YABU and yes.

Lanark2 · 29/03/2016 22:13

I have just sold my shares in shanghai bows you absolute bastards

MrsLeighHalfpenny · 29/03/2016 22:15

What a strange thing to get bothered about! If you don't like them then avoid it next time. I bought 2 bras from M&S last week, I see that neither has a bow ( not that it would bother me if they did).

FreshHorizons · 29/03/2016 22:18

If it does bother you it must be very simply to cut it off.

bettyberry · 29/03/2016 22:18

I have a jar FULL of these little bows. I don't like bows on things. Knickers... bras... ugh.

My question is. What the hell can I do with all these little bows?

Sew them on a cardi? bunting?

BennyTheBall · 29/03/2016 22:19

My dog gets a bow put on his collar by the groomer. Every time.

He insists I take it off as soon as we are in the car.

I like them.

TheToys · 29/03/2016 22:21

They are shit and I cut them out.

CauliflowerBalti · 29/03/2016 22:23

YANBU. It's lazy if nothing else.

I'd like a little embroidered rendition of Daryl from The Walking Dead between my boobs. That would be nice.

angielou123 · 29/03/2016 22:24

Had to check mine, just to see, and you are correct. Bow's on them all!

Branleuse · 29/03/2016 22:25

mine has a red bow and a contrasting little green rosebud.

Does this mean im not a feminist?

cheapandcheerful · 29/03/2016 22:26

Another one here whose dd spent many a happy hour twiddling with a bow whilst breastfeeding.

A very happy memory which I had completely forgotten until I clicked on this thread Smile
