Lahore bombing - where is Christian god?

Ok, I know this is a very clichéd question, but 70+ people, mainly children, brutally murdered at a Christian, Easter celebration.

Families gone. Lives shattered. Unbearable pain.

WHY would god allow this?

Aibu to think this sort of thing proves there is no Christian god. Or if there is, "he's" not a good force?

God has nothing to do with it, it's all about the arms sales and, if necessary, funding and arming the events which have us all hating and killing each other. The decimation of Christian communities in the ME is part of a long thought out strategy which has been in operation for at least a century. It would be helpful to read 'Foreign Policy' and 'Foreign Affairs' articles pertaining to the ME from the decade preceding 9/11 to get a good idea of what they were basically planning.

Ordo ab Chao.

Those who truly try to be righteous are always the first targets of this sort...

Exactly, my whole point. Why bring God into it. Blame evil man.

Stalin and Hitler may have been atheists but they used Christianity to their advantage when they needed it and it's easy to see why. Religions, especially monotheistic ones, direct people to a higher authority and encourage them to put aside critical thinking in favour of group think and hero person worship. It encourages them to see the world in terms of the deserving and the infidels, and to believe that the infidels have less value.

Having said that the most evil killers in history have come from all kinds of ideologies, both religious and non religious. They have usually however only come in one sex. It's time people looked at that connection rather than the religious one.

Absolutely spot on

Theydont....I agree. Hitler used religion to indoctrinate his followers.

"It encourages them to see the world in terms of the deserving and the infidels, and to believe that the infidels have less value."

Not denying that religion can be used to do that, but it is about as far removed from my faith as possible. Similar attitudes can also be seen in Mao Zedong and Stalin, both of whom had basically set themselves as that higher authority.

If you read the Bible there are things that happened before jesus time and after that left people asking God WHY? In the psalms David asks constantly why.
And still today people are asking why.
Whatever is happening in the world we can't blame God for it. We have to be thankful for our own circumstances and help others in the best way we can whether that Is giving to charity, helping homeless, donating to food banks there are so many things we can do to change the world then blame God and religion..
