What are people waiting for?

Is it aesthetically pleasing to some people to have an out of date tatty piece of pointless paper slightly blocking their view of the road?

Are there 'listed' cars out there where it's a requirement to leave them in?

FFS why?

Sorry I still have mine. It's comforting.

TeenAndTween · 23/03/2016 21:32

YABU

A car is naked without a tax disc.

Did you know some people collect tax discs?

MummySparkle · 23/03/2016 21:34

YABU. I was really sad when I got a new car as I had to say goodbye to my old one and its tax disk

QuestionableMouse · 23/03/2016 21:34

I don't have one in my new car but do in my other car. It's taped to the glass and I couldn't be arsed trying to unpick it.

Waxlyrically · 23/03/2016 21:41

Mines still there. Just never thought to remove it, but now I have thought about it, it's a kind of comforting shrine to a bygone era and will stay!

grannytomine · 23/03/2016 21:42

I've left mine there as it reminds me when the new one is due, and the MOT which is due a week before the tax. I can't imagine why it would bother anyone.

liptolinford · 23/03/2016 21:44

Too much trouble to remove it for me.

Ameliablue · 23/03/2016 21:46

I actually don't know if mine is still on display or not but can't see why it should bother anyone.

Elle80 · 23/03/2016 21:46

Mine is still on. Sorry (not sorry)

Longdistance · 23/03/2016 21:46

Mine's due end of this month.

I still have the last tax disc in the window.

Yes, yes to it being a comfort thing.

It was the worst idea ever, as people used to leave dump their untaxed cars up our private road.
I used to quite enjoy reporting them Grin

MrsMook · 23/03/2016 21:47

I recently took mine off after over a year. At least my National Trust stickers fill the void.

ConfuciousSayWhat · 23/03/2016 21:48

Mines still in place and I drive a car that has never needed tax paying on it Grin how's that for a double whammy!

MrsBertMacklin · 23/03/2016 21:48

Incidently, if anyone can tell me how to get rid of the sticky crap that's left behind after you take away the thing that used to hold the tax disc in place, I'd be grateful (baby oil?).

squeak10 · 23/03/2016 21:48

Still got mine

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 23/03/2016 21:48

Mine's still there. It will be whilst I still have the car.

BelfastSmile · 23/03/2016 21:48

The tax disc holder is basically welded to my windscreen, so I can't get it off. If I take the disc out I'll have an empty holder, and I don't like that.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 23/03/2016 21:49

I only took mine off because the holder didnt stick anymore.

RhiWrites · 23/03/2016 21:50

Try nail varnish remover to get rid of the sticky.

Bearbehind · 23/03/2016 21:50

On what planet did a tax disc ever even slightly block your view of the road??

Grip required,

Dapplegrey1 · 23/03/2016 21:51

Mine is there in case I need to give the number plate and can't be arsed to get out of the car to go and look.
Mrsbert I think you can get the sticky stuff off by rubbing it with alcohol.

elephantoverthehill · 23/03/2016 21:51

Please come and collect mine, one less pointless job for me to do. It is not harming anyone. Oh goodness me, have I turned into a GF? Grin

fluffypenguinbelly · 23/03/2016 21:52

Mine is still there. Reminds me when it needs renewing.

TiggyD · 23/03/2016 21:52

With the exception of the people who physically cannot remove theirs, Tiggy is disappointed in you.

[disappointed]

Tax discs don't bother me but I saw a car with a red nose on it the other day. How many zillion years has that been there?

EastMidsMummy · 23/03/2016 21:53

Who gives a shit?
