Am I too old to enter 'beauty pageant'?

So every spring, the city in which I live in hosts a festival which is a celebration of the people who live here and they choose a 'Queen' to lead the festival and parades. Now typically the queen is a teenage girl, aged around 15-20 however I've applied to be this years queen for a few reasons which I think are valid. I think it's an excellent way to give back to people who have supported me in this city and our little business so much and to promote some of the amazing charities and causes we work with..

I'm 25 BTW and there's no age limit specified, but told some of my friends and they weren't very supportive? Some say I would make a lovely queen, would really enjoy etc and have the best time of my life though so unsure.

AIBU?

What about a Miss Menopause? I'd be up for that. We could have a category for most heat generated by a hot flush.

MN is on fine form today! I've properly laughed quite a lot. Grin

Anna/Onna is so 2014 OP. I think you should go for something more timeless, really show them what you've got. What about this?

Shakey15000 · 02/04/2016 14:01

Excuuuuussse ME! DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM????

There is only one bona fide actress on this site and tis moi.

It's not your age that I would criticise but the pageant. So 1970s.

I'm 37 and dress up as Cinderella all the time. My whole community enjoy it and have huge grins on their faces when they see me. Hth

Sooo how did the informal selection day go? We need to know!

The OP started a thread this week that was deleted, so there's every chance they might not be updating sadly.

Giving back in the sense that I can contribute towards a lovely day for everyone, I'm used to acting in a royal manner too as through my company I take on some acting roles

Are you for real?

Springymajig · 02/04/2016 17:39

I'm pretty sure this is for the Lichfield Bower. It also seems to be that every single Bower Queen is blonde (although not an official prerequisite), so if you're a natural 'Anna' then you may fall at the first hurdle...

Beeziekn33ze · 02/04/2016 17:55

Do you know what, you might even get some free PR for your business too!!
I bet you hadn't thought of that!
