So every spring, the city in which I live in hosts a festival which is a celebration of the people who live here and they choose a 'Queen' to lead the festival and parades. Now typically the queen is a teenage girl, aged around 15-20 however I've applied to be this years queen for a few reasons which I think are valid. I think it's an excellent way to give back to people who have supported me in this city and our little business so much and to promote some of the amazing charities and causes we work with..

I'm 25 BTW and there's no age limit specified, but told some of my friends and they weren't very supportive? Some say I would make a lovely queen, would really enjoy etc and have the best time of my life though so unsure.

AIBU?

He'd probably look better in that than I would, Kurri Grin.

FairNotFair · 23/03/2016 19:21

Can PigletJohn carry off this viper outfit ? Huh? Huh???

In my head he does Grin Grin Grin

FairNotFair

Love your 999/101 competition Grin

TheSnowFairy · 23/03/2016 19:33

pippa can you post a picture of you either:

a) with a beauty queen crown

or

b) professionally dressed as Anna in your successful events company

Then we could all decided your chances of beating the teen beauties you'd be up against.

Thank you.

novemberchild · 23/03/2016 19:36

YY, Sparkling. Glittery shite is an ESSENTIAL component of a successful Mumsnet Pageant.

As for the other qualities required...hmm. Knowing at exactly what point to LTB? Hopefully there will be a Bounty bar eating round and 'Dodgiest Roots' round 'cause that way I can still emerge victorious.

novemberchild · 23/03/2016 19:40

Unfortunately will not be able to carry off the other viper costume but this one looks forgiving on the stomach area Grin

I hope there's a food round. Each contestant gets a chicken and has to feed the crowd with it.

TheJiminyConjecture · 23/03/2016 19:43

Ooh and a location round where they have to get inside a no shoes house wearing shoes and run to the bsthroon to deposit/collect a look brush

TheJiminyConjecture · 23/03/2016 19:44

Oh that post made no sense! Bathroom and loo brush

Vixxfacee · 23/03/2016 19:50

Can't a successful young business owner with model looks come on mumsnet without being hated on.

Puppy go for it! Those teen girls have nothing on you with all your charity work and status in the community!

acasualobserver · 23/03/2016 21:15

I think Kurri should be the real Queen, the actual Queen of all of England etc etc. She is better than Elizabeth II, IMO.

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 23/03/2016 21:24

I vote for Shiney, even though she's not here anymore. Sad

pootlepootle · 23/03/2016 21:26

Pavlovapippa do you have a fan club? If not, that would be a brilliant way of giving back.

I came on MN specifically to see whether you'd posted. Its like you know to post when I'm feeling down. Like kimmy Kardashian but without the naked selfie or maybe coronation Street. But obviously far less common.

xx

KurriKurri · 23/03/2016 21:27

Thank you acasualobserver I am writing my own Anthem at this very moment Grin

I can ride a horse whilst wearing a headscarf, and I'm sure I could Troop the Colour if someone showed me how. Would I be able to have one of those goat mascots ?

Sparklingbrook · 23/03/2016 21:30

I am having two unicorns pulling me along.

AmberNectarine · 23/03/2016 21:30

This thread has inspired me.

At the next church May Fair, I'm going to shove that 14yo May Queen out of the way and take what is rightfully mine. I have far more life experience. You need that to wrap a ribbon round a pole.

acasualobserver · 23/03/2016 21:35

Would I be able to have one of those goat mascots ?

Yes, you would.

FeralBeryl · 23/03/2016 21:39

Grin do it!
And take pics or it didn't happen. if it really existed

KurriKurri · 23/03/2016 21:42

This is getting competitive

I see your two unicorns Sparkling and raise you four Centaurs and a Dragon.

PacificDogwod · 23/03/2016 21:44

Oh, pippa, you absolutely owe it to the community to be their Queen! You simply must, dear. They would be bereft not to be lorded over reigned by you.

Sparkling, how can you have missed our own dear pippa? What with her being so successful and having such a lovely derriere. Keep up!

Kurri, you cannot stand in the way of our HRH pippa. Off with your head!!

BurningBriquette · 23/03/2016 21:50

I think I've mentioned my baking attempts previously... last night I made a pavlova, it was rather wet, and not very sweet. Turns out it was half baked.

CinderellaFant · 23/03/2016 22:02

Aw I actually thought i knew you until you said you were Anna! There's an 'events company' near me owned by someone dressed as elsa...except she really believes she is Elsa! Thinks she's far better than everyone else!

Bellyrub1980 · 23/03/2016 22:08

I genuinely can't work out if the OP is being ironic or not.

BurningBriquette · 23/03/2016 22:15

First I'm going to have a little dwinky. And then I'm going to execute the whole bally lot of you.
