I probably was bu but it was heat of the moment and it's not like ive damaged his car. It was just gently placed in the plastic fan blade type thing, could be easily pulled out.

He had parked right behind me so that I couldn't open my boot, he was touching my tow bar. Normally I would hang the poo bag on the tow bar till I get home but I couldn't reach it. Couldn't get the dog in the boot. More importantly I couldn't reverse out the space like I was planning to and had to go forwards over a 45degree slope/bank and was worried for a minute the car was going to topple over.

I hope it made his car smell of poo on the way home!

OP YANBU and I love your idea of putting Poo bag on tow bar. Can't believe some of the far fetched scenarios about what disasters could actually ensue involving the bag of shit dangling on tow bar situation though.

PUGaLUGS · 20/03/2016 21:58

I had to put a poo bag in the pocket of my coat last week! Now that was grim.

Didn't know what else to do with it. Hadn't got to the bin on my walk. Came across a lady on her walk who was injured and her dogs were also injured. A fight had occurred and she was caught in the cross fire. One had already been taken to the vets. I drove her home in her car with poo in my pocket, went into her house with her to wait for her husband with it in my pocket. Grin

CauliflowerBalti · 20/03/2016 21:59

I drove home today with two bags of poo in the car.

I wish I'd thought of tying them to the exterior. The smell was indescribably bad..

Northernlurker · 20/03/2016 22:02

Wellllllll............once upon a time we were holidaying in a delightful, remote spot. We had a lovely family dinner in a hotel and were driving back along the coast to our cottage when we saw porpoises frolicking in the sound. We parked up and headed down to the shore. Dd3 (aged 4) suddenly stopped and said she needed the loo. I briskly encouraged a wild widdle and continued to gaze out to sea as the sun set and the porpoises porped. Then I noticed the grunting. And on the grass at my feet she produced a large poo. Pausing only to ask through gritted teeth WHY she couldn't have done that in the lovely hotel loo a mere 10 minutes earlier I rummaged in the car for a bag and scooped the poop.
There was universal agreement in the car that the poo couldn't come in the car so we hung it from our bumper and fled to the nearest bin location anxiously looking out of the rear view to be sure it didn't fall off.
That location is still known to us as 'NL's dd's road' in memory.

So I don't think the Op is unreasonable to do the towbar thing nor was she unreasonable to punish the rude parking.

Whotookmyruler · 20/03/2016 22:06

Sorry but that is disgusting

Lanark2 · 20/03/2016 22:08

I love the diagram

austenozzy · 20/03/2016 22:10

I sometimes hang them on the rear windscreen wiper just to get somewhere with a bin. Better than having it inside the car! Rather a lot of daft reaction to that aspect of the op.

Gazelda · 20/03/2016 22:12

Excellent! I've been getting bored of playing the yellow car game on journeys. Now we can do the poop bag game instead. 5 points for a tow-bar dangler and 10 for a rear windscreen flutterer. A bonus 2 points if the bag is identifiably waitrose.

WeAllHaveWings · 20/03/2016 22:15

Yabu, not only is it minging, but it's unlikely he'll connect the poo bag in his grill with poor parking.

FlowersAndShit · 20/03/2016 22:17

Brilliant thread Grin I'm pissing myself laughing at OP driving around with a clump of dog shit in a bag tied to the back of the car Grin

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 20/03/2016 22:18

Yeah it's not going to change his parking because he's just going to think some scrubber put poo in his grill. It would be criminal damage if they reported it and knew it was you - it doesn't matter that it's not a functional car part, the offence is to interfere in any way with a vehicle not belonging to you, which includes things in the grill (lots of case law for this!). I'm guessing no CCTV if there's no bins, though.

His offence is less than yours so you've lost the moral high ground but what's done is done.

29PaddingtonSt · 20/03/2016 22:19

What are you all feeding your dogs that makes their poo so offensive that you can smell it through a bag?!

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 20/03/2016 22:21

YABU.

People do annoying things. Sometimes it because they are indeed arseholes, sometimes it's because they've got five million things on their mind and forgot to be considerate. It wasn't that bad. Annoying, irritating, but not worthy of being 'punished' ffs.

It was an unpleasant thing you did.

LavenderDoll · 20/03/2016 22:28

What do you think he will do though when he finds it?
Probably knock it off onto the floor - where it could split open
YABU - disgusting

BrexitentialCrisis · 20/03/2016 22:29

Oh my days- I'll be checking out everyone's tow bars from now on, that's so hilariously bonkers!

A bag of shit, quivering in the breeze as it speeds along atop a tow bar- that's modern life, right there. Grin

CosyNook · 20/03/2016 22:30

Everyone's more shocked at the OP hanging dog shit off her tow bar than stuffing it in someones grille - hilarious Smile

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 20/03/2016 22:41

what if the bag flew off, hit someone's windscreen and caused them to crash?

CRYING

stupid deaths! stupid deaths! they're funny cos they're troooooHOO

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 20/03/2016 22:45

What are you all feeding your dogs that makes their poo so offensive that you can smell it through a bag?!

my dogs' shite is so PRECIOUS I use biodegradeable nappy sacks

it's fucking porous innit. The amount of times we've had to drive home gagging with all the windows open

thanks OP for that top tip Flowers

austounding · 20/03/2016 22:49

the poo bag has never fallen off the towbar YET

Fixed it for you ^^

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 20/03/2016 22:53

It cant fall off, it's not just balanced on. Have you seen the diagram? Unless it disobeys the law of physics and levitates vertically upwards it's not going to happen. The loop of bag handle is tight, I have to push it over the ball so it's never going to work it's way upwards past it.

BoneyBackJefferson · 20/03/2016 22:57

WhoTheFuckIsSimon

You said that you had shoved it in to the "plastic fan blade type thing"

now its just been shoved in the grille, there is a big difference between the two

liinyo · 20/03/2016 23:03

It was unreasonable. You are not the parking police, nor were you put on this earth as an all powerful angel with a mission to wreak vengance on bad parking. And it can't have been that bad - you got out of it ok. Worry about your own citizenship and dispose of your dog poo responsibly in future.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 20/03/2016 23:06

The title says grille. The grille of this particular car had vertical fan type blades as the design of the grille but was definetely not the fan.

From fixing up old cars in the past I'm fairly sure that fans are always under the bonnet and inaccessible without opening the bonnet. Putting a bag of poo in the grille won't cause any damage, I drove around with a dead pheasant in mine for a weekend once without any problem.

Rattitude · 20/03/2016 23:09

OP, you are talking shit Grin: there are no 45 degrees roads. The highest road gradients in the world are around 20 degrees only, and good luck managing those!

oldandcrabby · 20/03/2016 23:10

I have not followed the whole post but I have a plastic box with lid in the car for emergencies. If there is no bin, I put the bag in the box and seal it till I get home and dispose of it: no brainer. I did have a friend whose dog pooped before setting off for a walk, she bagged it and put it on her tow bar intending to dispose of it when she returned. After walking the dogs she came back to find 3 more bags hanging from her tow bar!
