I didn't mean to! We were just on our way to go and look at wallpaper (exciting I know) and there was a little gallery and I suggested we have a look and...

...a handshake and a discount later, I LOVE it.

AIBU to ask what you have on your walls?

Lurleene!... The Stanley chows are brilliant! I've been looking for a print of Manchester! They are lovely and colourful!

Those eyes would give me the creeps..I've been in this house for ages and have never found anything I liked for the living room.

Then OH bought this map of Middle Earth and it somehow ended up on the wall. Neighbour did a double take when he saw it

I bought this little masterpiece last year. My DS did it at school (well, nursery at the time), and they did a art gallery of children's art work throughout the school where you could purchase their pictures. Of course, it was just the frame and mount I paid for but it was a really nice touch and worth the 7 quid I think! :)

I love this thread - it's so interesting to see what everyone has. So many lovely things.

My pride and joy is a limited edition print of Aerial View of the Houses of Parliament by Stephen Wiltshire (the autistic artist who sketches city scapes from memory), which I bought for myself for my birthday :)
www.stephenwiltshire.co.uk/art_gallery.aspx?Id=6668

I also have three classic M.C. Esher prints which I have all in a row in the dining room and they look amazing.

Also a few Gary Hodges wildlife prints (graphite on white paper)

I clearly have a bit of a black and white thing going on!

grumpysquash3 · 19/03/2016 20:38

Oldraver
We have a Game of Thrones map of the Seven Kingdoms framed in the hallway just as you come in the front door. It looks like a real place :)
On the other side of the hallway I have a poster of a Gaudi house, which is equally as unrealistic, but in a completely different way :)

HappyGoLuckyGirl · 19/03/2016 20:40

pink that is stunning!

Oldieandgoldie · 19/03/2016 20:42

I have a 3D piece by John D Wilson called "Down at the Mill". We were in Lincoln going to an exhibition for my birthday treat when DD spotted it in a gallery window - she said "that picture moves" we stopped to look and were intrigued. Went in, the gallery owner hung it in the viewing room and left us play with the lighting to admire it. Next thing I know DP had his wallet out!

I love these 3D scenes...they're excellent, but very difficult to google. I would love to buy a small (cheap!) one for our house. I remember the first time I ever saw one....it was fascinating, but also made me feel 'wobbly', all at the same time.

I'm going to Google yours now.

EyUpDuck · 19/03/2016 20:43

Bea- your dad was very talented! I love that picture.

MrHankyTheXmasPoo · 19/03/2016 20:52

A massive painting by raul speek who is a Cuban artist living in Wales. A few other originals all very bold and bright and a framed print of the scream. Hall wall covered In family pics and painting of mumbles and gower.

I like to buy quirky originals

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 19/03/2016 20:52

I forgot, I found some old colourplates of Mary Cicely Barkers Flower Fairies and framed them for DD1 room when she was a baby. DD2 has them now.

ElBandito · 19/03/2016 20:52

pinkshagpile · 19/03/2016 20:54

I'm not going to single anything out as if you want it you should have it - it's your house after all - but some of these are pretty naff IMO
