I didn't mean to! We were just on our way to go and look at wallpaper (exciting I know) and there was a little gallery and I suggested we have a look and...

...a handshake and a discount later, I LOVE it.

AIBU to ask what you have on your walls?

Ha ha very funny!

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 19/03/2016 18:37

Ah, just Googled the artist, not my thing, to be honest.

Tall, skinny women walking dogs in high heels, shoes and make up type things do little for me. I guess her style has a vague, BIrthday card type appeal though.

I like the NIcki MacRae. I do love looking at other people's taste in artwork!

MaidOfStars · 19/03/2016 18:38

I have a massive pop art Jimi Hendrix (painted by moi), a series of Banky prints, a series of Dr Seuss prints, a repro Woodstock concert poster, um.....oh, several framed LPs.

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 19/03/2016 18:39

Flippertigibbet love that!

bettyberry · 19/03/2016 18:39

I have [[http://www.houseandgarden.co.uk/interiors/furnishings/best-wall-sticker-quotes-vinyl-wall-art/make-do-and-mend]] that I bought for the very fabulous £19!

I also have a framed 70s led zeppelin tour flyer that was awaiting the tour dates. So unused/surplus

A framed bus blind from the buses and the route my grandfather used to work on in the 80s

a few of my own black and white photographs and illustrations.

BastardGoDarkly · 19/03/2016 18:40

I absolutely love it op!!

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 19/03/2016 18:41

A close friend is a watercolour artist who specialises in silk painting, and I love her stuff. She'd sell one at mates rates but it would still be about £1000… I'm kicking myself for not buying one when she was unknown and struggling, but I had no money then either!

SlinkyVagabond · 19/03/2016 18:43

We have two colloid prints by a Yorkshire artist called Hester Cox, one is a hare in moonlight running down a hill and facing it is a field of yellow and green with swallows in flight. Oh and a b&w print of Tony Curry. (Only old sheffielders will know who he is.)

lulucappuccino · 19/03/2016 18:45

Sorry, don't like those eyes at all. Creepy and a bit naff. Sorry.

GreyHare · 19/03/2016 18:46

Not my taste at all, but if you love it, that is all that matters, I have lots of random pictures but my favourites are by Kate Wyatt and Jennifer Brereton which I'm guessing won't be to your taste.

pandarific · 19/03/2016 18:49

These are the other two things I have. Love them both, in different ways. The white and red is of a well known landmark in Dublin, and parts are laser cut out.

I have a 3D piece by John D Wilson called "Down at the Mill". We were in Lincoln going to an exhibition for my birthday treat when DD spotted it in a gallery window - she said "that picture moves" we stopped to look and were intrigued. Went in, the gallery owner hung it in the viewing room and left us play with the lighting to admire it. Next thing I know DP had his wallet out!

It is amazing though - different lighting gives different effects and it does move with you. People always comment on it and we love it.

In the hall I have a printed photo of Park Hill flats in Sheffield by Caroline Newton with a purple background. Not to everyone's taste, but DP both love Brutalist buildings and have links to Sheffield.

guerre · 19/03/2016 18:58

I have this, by ds3 when he was 7. I've hung it the wrong way round and the artist is not happy.
