In RL, most people meet a limited "range" of others, doctors will have many doctor friends and most schools are not very mixed socially. If schools are mixed socially, many parents hang out with similar other parents. Neighbourhoods are rarely very mixed, at least at micro-level, next door's lot are usually quite similar.

On MN, there is a huge variety of people so things that are unspoken rules in one's RL might not be so on here. It disturbs people to realises not everybody is just like them.

That's why RL is easier than MN, Ginslinger. In RL, people don't usually say YABU, but do a non-committal u-hum instead. I then take said u-hum as enthusiastic agreement, they mean it as "whatever" or "fuck off" and we can all move on unharmed.
