Been a poster for the last 8 years and it's been good.

However recently things have changed.

Far too many adverts seem to pop and it's got too commercial.

Tonight there's a really nasty mil thread that consist of posters slagging off their mothers/mils for doing the ironing FFS.

Earlier posters defended a paedophile footballer.

Anyway time out and sadly end of an era for me.

I actually can't believe half the threads here as so ridiculous.

It's sad but the site isn't what it was.

OP posts:

It's becoming very Jeremy Kyle. A bit common.

Everyone has to leave eventually I guess, or else I'm looking forward to the first deathbed thread from the hospice - I'll volunteer for that.

Haven't seen the paedophile thread, but if it's about the 28 year old footballer who has lost his liberty and livelihood for putting his hand down the jeans of a 15 year old fan who met up with him in his car for a kiss and more, I think there's a mn-worthy debate in there.

You for real?

I only stay for shoes off, disabled parking spaces, rinsing washing up and my day is perfect if there is a parking thread Grin

We do need a few more feelgood threads though - elderly korean lady or pirate sex will do me Smile

Oh those hilarious disabled parking space threads. Hilarious unless you are disabled and have issues getting a space.

I hear you OP.

Mn is just quite crass and insensitive compared to how it used to be,IMO. Not directed at any particular poster BTW.

The problem with the advert for the boots sandals, very ugly sandals is the photo looks like there may be a decayed dried up leg inside. Why the hell not actually put them on a living human foot/leg combo? It would avoid the strangeness of it looking like there may be something sinister inside.
I bet they have not even sold one pair and advertising them with part of the purchase price going to the Halo trust is sad. Why not send all the purchase price to Halo and avoid having those bad boys haunting your life?

....to be fuming?
Do I have to pay to prebook seats to Malaga?
Friend wants to borrow money
....to think this woman was a cow?

Those are my favourite thread titles - a good day will have 3 or 4 of them.

Fanjo I was generalising, apologies if I have upset you. Let me rephrase it then... any parking threads.

I love these threads on forums!

"This place is shit, i'm leaving for good"

If the place is so crap why dont they ever post something interesting and in line with their vision of the site and the threads that should be discussed?
Actually attempt to make it better, or at least better as they see it?

Nope, just,
"I'm leaving because you all smell of wee and i want to play Barbie by myself and eat all the Haribos without sharing so ner ner"

See you next week after a name change op.

I don't get any adverts on MN. I use an add-on called 'adblocker' . Highly recommended. As I type it is blocking 7 adverts.

Are you kidding, OP? People have been slagging off the MILs for minor infractions since the dawn of mumsnet. I agree with you about the adverts but those have crept in gradually over the last two years or so, they're not brand new.

SoupDragon · 04/03/2016 07:29

I don't really notice any ads on MN as my mind just skims over them. I don't have a problem with them as this is the reason MN is free. It's odd to complain about something becoming too commercial - it needs to be in order to function.

"hrtr" is supposed to be "here", but her fingers were one key to the left of where they should have been when she started to type the last three letters.

Get an adblocker
Hide AIBU and Relationships as whole topics
On ridiculous threads either join in or hide them.

Avoid threads that certain posters start or appear on.

I don't believe half the threads on here either, just skim and hide, or report etc.

Jobs a good 'un.
