Playdate DCs haven't been picked up. Should I drop them off?

So a mum from my DCs school asked me to have her two DCs today as her two are the same age/in the same class as my two youngest.
The DCs have been here a couple of times before but usually I arrange this with their dad and he picks them up.
But he is away on business and so their mum asked me to take them today as a favour whilst she is in work.

I've had them since 9 this morning. She was supposed to pick them up at 6:30. I called her at 7 and 7:30 and 8 and 8:15 but she's not replying. I have text her a number of times and nothing.

My DCs should be in bed. Her eldest isn't bothered but her youngest is getting upset saying that she should be in bed. I haven't told them that their mum should have picked them up by now.

Should I go round to theirs? I don't want to worry the DCs if their mum isn't there when we get there. But I would like to know where she is. So would I be unreasonable to go round there?

At the PUB??? Shock

lalalonglegs · 22/02/2016 10:40

Bliley - "gotten carried away" doesn't begin to cover it. I'mg lad she was found and the dad is coming home. Well done Flowers

DoreenLethal · 22/02/2016 10:40

In the pub. Classic. Possibly with terrorists. Brilliant.

ExplodingCarrots · 22/02/2016 10:41

Thank you for the update OP. You're a really lovely person and the DC were lucky to have you caring for them last night.

sandylion · 22/02/2016 10:41

Shockunreal! She surely has some kind of problem and I hope SS are involved now! How awful for those poor kids. You are a saint for dealing with this.

DrRanjsRightEyebrow · 22/02/2016 10:41

I imagine the police will have to notify SS, no need for the OP to get involved any more, she's dealt with quite enough.

ollieplimsoles · 22/02/2016 10:41

So everyone's ok with the fact that their mother just ran off then?

Did you mention it when you dropped them at school?

wheresthebeach · 22/02/2016 10:41

The pub??? Seriously?? Yikes.

EponasWildDaughter · 22/02/2016 10:41

Well done OP for being there for those kids.

In the bloody pub. Jesus.

MagratsFlyawayHair · 22/02/2016 10:41

Bloody hell. I hope that she ends up getting some support as it sounds horribly like something is not quite right in her life if out of the blue she goes on a bender and doesn't get her kids.

Thanks for updating and letting us know it wasn't a worse case scenario sort of situation.

OohMavis · 22/02/2016 10:41

Speechless.

turkeylovessprout · 22/02/2016 10:42

Well done OP. I can't believe some woman you hardly know has caused you so much stress, not to mention her own kids. Those poor children. Hope you got a few winks at least and thanks for updating.

HooseRice · 22/02/2016 10:42

Phew, she was just being a selfish moo and nothing more sinister.

Glad also you are no longer saddled with OPKs.

diddl · 22/02/2016 10:42

Blimey!

Thatreally is taking the piss.

imwithspud · 22/02/2016 10:42

Oh gosh, those poor kids - all that worry for you and them and she was in the fucking pub??

In a way I'm sort of glad their mum was 'at the pub' and not something worse. But that's incredibly neglectful of her, I definitely wouldn't be doing any favours for her in future.

BathshebaDarkstone · 22/02/2016 10:43

Ive only read the first and last pages, but FFS, what an awful mum. How are the DC.

Arsenicinthesugarbowl · 22/02/2016 10:43

Glad it's sorted. What a night for you though OP.

FuzzyOwl · 22/02/2016 10:43

The pub?! Biscuit

MyNewBearTotoro · 22/02/2016 10:43

Oh gosh, I'm glad everything is alright but those poor DC. Obviously it's great news there wasn't any emergency and their mum is fine but then it's kind of worse that she would just 'get carried away' with no regard for you or, more importantly, her young DC.

At least the police and school were informed so if it's necessary hopefully SS will get involved to determine whether it was a genuine one-off or whether the family need more support.

Well done to you for dealing with this and ensuring the DC were fine. I'm sure you deserve Flowers, Chocolate and maybe a glass of Wine now! X

HackerFucker22 · 22/02/2016 10:43

She was in the pub? All night? Right-i-o

VoldysGoneMouldy · 22/02/2016 10:44

Well it's strangely a relief that she's just a massive twat rather than lying dead in a ditch. The fact the dad suspected where she might be would suggest she's doing something similar before Sad Those poor, poor children.

You are amazing OP. What an awful thing to go through.

bessiebumptious2 · 22/02/2016 10:44

So she was found in the pub but STILL didn't go and sort her children out??!! Police presumably wouldn't have been kindly with her, but she STILL didn't stop what she was doing. Priceless.

CooPie10 · 22/02/2016 10:44

What a pathetic excuse for a 'mother'. She dumped her children and went on an all nighter and couldn't care less about how worried her kids might be. I hope her husband deals with her severely.

IdaJones · 22/02/2016 10:45

Will the mum be picking the kids up from school today? (If she's not in the pub.)

Johnny5isAlive · 22/02/2016 10:45

Well Done OP Flowers.
You must need a rest. You're a superstar
