Playdate DCs haven't been picked up. Should I drop them off?

So a mum from my DCs school asked me to have her two DCs today as her two are the same age/in the same class as my two youngest.
The DCs have been here a couple of times before but usually I arrange this with their dad and he picks them up.
But he is away on business and so their mum asked me to take them today as a favour whilst she is in work.

I've had them since 9 this morning. She was supposed to pick them up at 6:30. I called her at 7 and 7:30 and 8 and 8:15 but she's not replying. I have text her a number of times and nothing.

My DCs should be in bed. Her eldest isn't bothered but her youngest is getting upset saying that she should be in bed. I haven't told them that their mum should have picked them up by now.

Should I go round to theirs? I don't want to worry the DCs if their mum isn't there when we get there. But I would like to know where she is. So would I be unreasonable to go round there?

Yeah, well done you! Hmm

FattyFishwife · 22/02/2016 10:12

i hope everything is ok...clearly there must be something thats happened to keep them away from their children. Hope the o/p managed to sort things out and that everyone had a happy ending....

FFS people aren't telling you not to post out of spite or some weird power trip. It's for the OP to be able to post when she needs to.

How selfish/stupid can you get. This will be my last post and I hope it stops other petty weirdos from posting 'to piss off' anyone.

Why not?

Shockers · 22/02/2016 10:17

What makes you say that, Green? Have you checked her out? If so, have you reported her?

OP - Flowers for you and I hope the kids were ok this morning and went off to school ok. Hopefully the school office can be of assistance with emergency contact numbers, and the dad has been in touch. The children were very lucky to be with their friends and to have you looking after them yesterday. Really hope the mum has been located now.

Mummy dictators? Grin

turkeylovessprout · 22/02/2016 10:26

Is that just your opinion Green or do you know for sure?
I think a lot of people have spent a lot of time reading through this thread and empathising. I hope it's not some kind of wind up.

To be fair she still has 84 posts to update

CupcakesRule · 22/02/2016 10:29

She may still be at the school trying to help sort things out. Really not a priority to update a forum!

MimsyBorogroves · 22/02/2016 10:33

Hope everything's been resolved overnight.

Recordmirror · 22/02/2016 10:38

Sorry it's been a busy morning. Thank you for your posts.
We eventually got in contact with the dad who had an idea of where she might be and the police found her at a friends pub, she had been to work and then gone out for a drink and gotten carried away.
The dad is flying home as soon as possible to sort the situation out.

I kept the DCS all night and they spoke to their dad on the phone this morning and took them all to school this morning. The school had some spare uniform for them.

Mazzystarlett · 22/02/2016 10:39

Thank f*ck for that. Well done, you're a superhero!

bessiebumptious2 · 22/02/2016 10:39

Kreeshsheesh · 22/02/2016 10:39

Thank goodness the mum is okay. As for the reason. Words fail me.

DrRanjsRightEyebrow · 22/02/2016 10:40

Oh. My. God. Those poor poor kids. And poor you for having all that worry. What an incredibly selfish woman. Thanks for updating OP, you deserve a medal.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/02/2016 10:40

Bloody hell. How totally irresponsible of her. Glad it wasn't anything worse, though. Well done to you for coping with it.
