I don't understand and can't be bothered trying.

twistedlove · 21/02/2016 18:27

Well why bother typing?

manicattack · 21/02/2016 18:40

I used to think that it was a waste of time....once . but then i had an amazing Geordie family adopt me and my kids and they showed me lifes so much better when you just slow down and enjoy the scent of the roes rather than just admire it as u pass it by... I go skiing on a tuesday dry slopes spend most of my time at the bottom in a heap my sister inlaw she alot better at it then i.

""she had ferro roche sundee need a sugar rush""

OMG! Just found somewhere close to me that does this, OP you've opened up a whole new world for me!

2rebecca · 21/02/2016 18:49

I'm not quite clear what your AIBU is. If you're really asking "AIBU to do something I enjoy on a Sunday?" The obvious answer is "no, why are you bothering to ask anyone's opinion just get on with it"
Instead you have a thread title where you complain that your MIL "owns" your Sundays rather than you owning them which makes her sound controlling and then waffle on about how much you like her cooking. Bizarre.

Passmethecrisps · 21/02/2016 19:06

Op doesn't have an AIBU. She was chatting and picked the wrong section.

Lulu1083 · 21/02/2016 19:13

Contessa... Perfectly proving OP's point there.

slow clap

LaContessaDiPlump · 21/02/2016 19:17

I did say I wasn't denying it, Lulu.

aprilanne · 21/02/2016 19:19

i have visited my mother in law for tea on a sunday for over 25 years .she makes a nice meal .BUT I DETEST THE WOMAN .she is so bossy passive aggressive .but my hubby likes to go i go for his sake there has been times i have fantasied about divorce because then i would get rid of her .i just go and read a magazine and just ignore her yapping .

Heaven on earth

My teens often use the word 'owns' as in being very good at something or triumphing. For example, if a friend scored a goal in football, they would say 'you owned that' I think the OP is saying that her MIL is the best at Sunday lunch therefore she 'owns' it.

Hope I explained that OK.? It's basically like street slang.

Sparklingbrook · 21/02/2016 19:30

I wondered if it was meant that way Lost. I have teens and they often say about 'owning' but not as in it belongs to them IYKWIM. More a getting one over on each other in this house.

manicattack · 21/02/2016 19:32

Yes ilostit exactly right .it won't do any of you any harm mingling or meddling with the like of me ,totally harmless me.

Has she drugged you?

PuppyMonkey · 21/02/2016 19:38

"Weekends are for sporting stuff" - shudder. Confused

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 21/02/2016 19:40

Sparkling Mine use it like that as well, as in 'You just got owned' if someone makes them look bad. Bit confusing but I'm starting to get used to it as I've had a houseful of teens this week with all their friends trailing in.

Manic you sound very friendly and down to earth. It's great to have people from all walks of life on MN Smile

manicattack · 21/02/2016 19:40

No lol she tied me to a chair and tickled my feet until i wrote something nice about her giggles ... Nah shes just really canny .

YY Lost they shout 'OWNED!' and I am particularly Confused. Teenspeak is baffling.

Sorry Sparkling not your threads but manics, getting really confused with this thread!

FlatOnTheHill · 21/02/2016 19:50

Nice to hear someone getting along with the MIL rather than slagging her off like most do on here. Mind you, no matter how nice she is I could not be planning my every Sunday at hers.

Wombatinabathhat · 21/02/2016 19:51

Has she drugged you? Grin

manicattack · 21/02/2016 19:54
