Could we get it moved? Shes new to this so wont know

Sparklingbrook · 21/02/2016 16:59

I wouldn't bother moving it now. AIBU is usually stuff like 'AIBU to think/say/do this'.

But TBF you can post whatever you like wherever you like and many people never venture out of AIBU and look at the other topics.

twistedlove · 21/02/2016 17:01

Ah well im sure she'll pick up the system of the site soon

Sparklingbrook · 21/02/2016 17:06

I would recommend to any newbies to look at all the other topics and give AIBU a wide berth until they have found their feet.
There's some good stuff in the proper topics.

But honestly there are no rules except the Talk Guidelines and many that suggest posting in the correct topic get accused of being the thread police.

manicattack · 21/02/2016 17:07

Don't forget to post pics of the dinner.

twistedlove · 21/02/2016 17:12

I was a lurker for ages before i actually posted, ive had some good advice from people.

The site is very useful and i will learn to develop thicker skin and just shrug off some comments.

Sparklingbrook · 21/02/2016 17:14

Report anything that breaches Talk Guidelines and hide threads and whole topics if need be.

Passmethecrisps · 21/02/2016 17:17

Frankly, any happy threads are welcome by me anyway.

My mil also makes a mean roast lunch. I always envy her ability to have it all on the table at actual lunchtime. We celebrate if we have it ready for 5pm

Waltermittythesequel · 21/02/2016 17:18

I know you two keep going on about how you don't use Facebook, but this site is really not the place for replacement facebooking...

It's not social media, really. And I don't mean to sound like the thread police but there are a lot of serious issues discussed on here and if it gets clogged with partners chatting to each other, it doesn't really work, IYSWIM.

I think the chat topic is probably more suitable...

Sparklingbrook · 21/02/2016 17:18

Advice for newbies here.

manicattack · 21/02/2016 17:19

And im not posting picture of my tea ...... Theres enought of that on face book ....im sorry i cause such a freak out when i come on here ,but its such an interesting place. i dont even mind the banter i think it quiet clever how some people can disrespect people without using foul language. And how other defend people with the same smart use of words . im hoping your english skill rub of on me

Bair · 21/02/2016 17:20

manicattack · 21/02/2016 17:22

Mines a worse cook than me and that's saying something Grin. She steams potatoes and veg all together into a mush that tastes of the strongest tasting veg of that day.

manicattack · 21/02/2016 17:24

That sounds more like the mess i would serve up

OP posts:
manicattack · 21/02/2016 17:26

You don't have to be on this thread . i get the idea i'll post in chat next time . no offence ment.

wiccamum · 21/02/2016 17:28

manicattack, I think your MIL sounds lovely. Mine can't cook a roast to save her life, but she is improving. I get a wee bit of satisfaction from making a better cauliflower cheese than her, but she is a total gem and I do love her.

IHaveBrilloHair · 21/02/2016 17:40

Haha, I always post pics of my dinner of FB, and far too manyof my cats too.
I am the boring FB person that gets moaned about on here a lot.
I also post present piles.

manicattack · 21/02/2016 17:43

Thats what fb is for ... I just cant cope with fb it makes me the strange one i dont watch tv either ...

Sparklingbrook · 21/02/2016 17:44

I like MN because it's not FB. People keep asking for a Like button on here. Hmm

Mouseinahole · 21/02/2016 17:46

Jazz bands in Durham and Northumberland are like troupes of drum majorettes twirling batons and marching in parades. There are usually troupes for children and adults. I don't think there are so many now but there were lots when I was a child.

twistedlove · 21/02/2016 17:52

Theres actually quite a few marching jazz bands in the northeast but admittedly nowhere near as many as the 70's/ 80's.

My sister has been in for 10 years and loves it.

LaContessaDiPlump · 21/02/2016 17:56

i dont even mind the banter i think it quiet clever how some people can disrespect people without using foul language.

So you're calling us clever but bitchy, yes?

I'm not denying it, just wanted to clarify. Thanks hun xxoxooxoxoxo

If you enjoy it fine, but I'd hate to have to visit anyone every weekend. Weekends are for sporting stuff and hobbies and relaxing and catching up on jobs. Having all of Sunday taken up with a roast lunch would be a waste of a day for me.
