A couple I know who think they're the dogs gonads have just bought the ugliest house.

Many of you will say I'm lame and need to get a life. But this has put me in quite a good mood!

That is all.

You are, did you not "get" that op? Shame, you're not the brightest bulb, but I take no pleasure in your lack of intelligence.

Sophie38 · 19/02/2016 18:16

Cheers Pike. As you were Smile

thisismypassword · 19/02/2016 18:18

I'm more intelligent than you captain. All you've got on me is age. Schadenfreude again!!!!

OP posts:
Sallystyle · 19/02/2016 18:18

You said it was schadenfreude, it isn't and words mean something.

You might also want to look up the word moron.

thisismypassword · 19/02/2016 18:19

Will do. Thanks for the tip.

Why are people getting defensive?

People aren't defensive. They just can't understand why you feel so smug that someone your don't like as bought a normal looking house.

I can't help thinking you feel jealous and are picking st the house to make yourself feel better.

Very bizarre. I don't like my sil. But I am not gleeful that i don't like her house. Confused

CaptainCrunch · 19/02/2016 18:21

Aw, the wee dafty, she tried hard.

lorelei9 · 19/02/2016 18:22

OP "Simply that it's an ugly house. Is that so hard to believe?!"

well you must realise lots of people on MN will live in houses that look just like that....

gunting · 19/02/2016 18:22

GrinConfused

lorelei9 · 19/02/2016 18:25

OP "I know they like it because they only moved a couple of doors down because they can extend the property-- how square is that though??"

"square" as in "good way to make a profit"? Maybe they'll do that and buy a house that even you find beautiful, OP. And you say yourself you live in an ugly house.

you'd have done much better to start a thread telling us what this couple have done to piss you off so much.

thisismypassword · 19/02/2016 18:25

But why are they offended. I'm quite sure no one could give a toss what I think, nor I them. It seems that the hate has come from people who live in such soulless boxes and take offence very easily from a stranger on the Internet.

OP posts:
ilovesooty · 19/02/2016 18:26

No wonder the OP is afraid of being outed. Imagine people you know in real life finding out you'd posted a thread like this. It's cringe worthy.

I don't need to justify my reasons for disliking them thanks

Well, this is weird.

OvariesBeforeBrovaries · 19/02/2016 18:27

I've now got "Schadenfreude" from Avenue Q stuck in my head.

ilovesooty · 19/02/2016 18:28

I wonder if the dislike is mutual. I wouldn't be surprised.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 19/02/2016 18:30

Did I just get called a bozo for pointing out the op doesn't understand what schadenfreude means?

But harsh...

PaulAnkaTheDog · 19/02/2016 18:32

Such a mental thread. It's brilliant.

Perfectlypurple · 19/02/2016 18:32

Odd. Nothing wrong with the house. Different people like different things so being gleeful that you don't like their house means nothing. They wouldn't have bought it if they didn't like it.

Donthate · 19/02/2016 18:34

I would much rather live in a house that looks like theirs than yours. Guessing they have a garden and are detached. In fact my nan and grandad lived in a house much like it. It was such a happy house lots of great memories there. You are being silly OP but I'm sure you know that.

PouletDePrintemps · 19/02/2016 18:40

Is this you Paul?

to be a little gleeful that...
thisismypassword · 19/02/2016 18:41

Told you, I'll be moving this year to a better house (in my eyes of course)

That's him with his beady eyes

OP posts:
thisismypassword · 19/02/2016 18:46

I think that killed the thread. Good night everyone.

Aah but I don't live in a soulless box - my house is extremely unusual, I'd be very surprised if anyone else on mumsnet lived in one the same Wink

We did have a Victorian semi when we first got married - spent a fortune doing it up and were then very glad to move to a new build
