A couple I know who think they're the dogs gonads have just bought the ugliest house.

Many of you will say I'm lame and need to get a life. But this has put me in quite a good mood!

That is all.

I was addicted to buying 'ugly' houses cause I'd feel sorry for them! then Id transform them into palaces that sold within days. it's amazing what a make over can do to a house. nice porch, bit of character few walls knocked down or added and you can bring it back to life. be interesting to see it after they've worked on it!

Weirdest thread ever. Can't say I take pleasure in others misfortunes but then I believe in karma. Enjoy your gloating OP. One day it'll probably come back and bite you on your (Victorian/ Edwardian) arse

Well poulet by the end of a night out I'm sure my makeup makes me resemble a clown. So as long as they keep me tanked up it will be a clown (of sorts) in a penis shaped house. With a cockatoo and pussy cat.

Yes you can have an opinion - being 'gleeful' is something different

I know lots of people who are very happy in houses I wouldn't want as a gift - for lots of reasons - they're no more right than I am and I don't feel 'gleeful' that they've bought houses I don't like

I know I'm being childish, but everyone's entitled to that sometimes.

Well every eye forms its own beauty. What's ugly to you clearly isn't ugly to them or they wouldn't have bought the house.

Ah Paul for a moment there I was gleeful at the thought of a clown living in a penis shaped house. But it was not to be...Grin

I think the crux of it comes from the fact that I'm ready to move house of here. Been living here for 5 years. Moved in without kids, now have 2. It's just on my mind and I'm getting obsessional going on Rightmove all the time!

As I've said before, I'm sure they'll be very happy in their home and good luck to them but I stand by the fact that I personally think their house is ugly. I'm sure they think my house is a shit hole too. I'm allowed to have an opinion.

My house looks weird and the pebbledash is painted mustard Hmm I think it's butt ugly on the outside but has massive rooms, a massive driveway, massive garden and loads of potential to extend. People don't just buy houses for how they look on the outside...one day I'll paint my house white lol.

I'm a bit more tanned (and female).

Aah but I don't live in a soulless box - my house is extremely unusual, I'd be very surprised if anyone else on mumsnet lived in one the same Wink

We did have a Victorian semi when we first got married - spent a fortune doing it up and were then very glad to move to a new build

I would much rather live in a house that looks like theirs than yours. Guessing they have a garden and are detached. In fact my nan and grandad lived in a house much like it. It was such a happy house lots of great memories there. You are being silly OP but I'm sure you know that.

Report
Perfectlypurple · 19/02/2016 18:32

Odd. Nothing wrong with the house. Different people like different things so being gleeful that you don't like their house means nothing. They wouldn't have bought it if they didn't like it.

Did I just get called a bozo for pointing out the op doesn't understand what schadenfreude means?

But harsh...

I wonder if the dislike is mutual. I wouldn't be surprised.

You'd have done much better to start a thread telling us what this couple have done to piss you off so much.**

I don't need to justify my reasons for disliking them thanks
