A couple I know who think they're the dogs gonads have just bought the ugliest house.

Many of you will say I'm lame and need to get a life. But this has put me in quite a good mood!

That is all.

They bought the house they wanted to buy and you are delighted like its a bad thing?
Am I losing the plot here?

I think people are underestimating the importance of an attractive house.

Oh come on, that's ridiculous!

My house is ugly but my DH is attractive. I'm quite happy with that state of affairs.

My house is ugly. The marvellous thing is that when I'm inside I don't have to look at it - unlike my poor neighbours. Grin

This is the best likeness of the house I can find. It is NOT the house

It's a friggin standard house. You are being so weird! Sure there isn't some jealousy going on?

Oh for heavens sake. I was expecting some hideous thing. That is just an ordinary house.

If it's a Sixties or Seventies house, it could be that they have impeccable taste and an eye for a good investment. Lots of people disparage post-War styles and claim that they are ugly but they're becoming very fashionable and the layout is usually much better than in typical Victorian/Georgian/some Edwardian properties that carry a premium.

Gutted it's not penis shaped.

They probably made a shrewd investment as price is cheap?

Obviously it's a matter of tastes. I love Georgian houses and I live in a Victorian one right now!

I wish it were penis shaped too

Posted before I saw the photo - so, yes, they've bought a Sixties/Seventies house which I bet has huge windows, lots of light and much more useable space.

That is not an ugly house, I would love to see what is classified as beautiful property in your eyes though.

I wouldn't buy a house post 1940s to be honest. Don't like style of post war housing. I'll post a picture of what I think is attractive for the exact same price and see what you think.

I do know what you mean. I know a couple who always like to have one (or more) up on everyone, so when they bought a bog-standard house on normal street I was surprised and a little gleeful at their choice.
