Do these stars not look in the mirror?
Or have honest friends to tell them?
Why does no-one wear tights anymore?

Lottie my legs look just like the pale ones in the picture you posted.

I am a fair skinned woman who lives in Belfast and it's February, I would look ridiculous with my legs fake tanned like that, especially since the skin on my face would be a completely different colour.

That sort of tan is obviously fake, it doesn't look natural looking at all.

LucilleBluth · 15/02/2016 22:16

This thread is mad. Beautiful, stunning, talented woman in fab outfit.....that would have looked so much better with tights, I agree.

Lottie2611 · 15/02/2016 22:17

Of course paler skinned women (and knees) can be gorgeous!
these ones are not and would benefit from a bit of a glow!

TaraCarter · 15/02/2016 22:28

"A bit of a glow" seems to be a euphemis-tastic way of saying "put chemicals on them so that the bumpy bits don't show".

ghostyslovesheep · 15/02/2016 22:31

Lottie come back when you have an Oscar and get paid over £1 million per movie - then maybe I'll listen I wont

Lottie2611 · 15/02/2016 22:34

Having an Oscar clearly means nothing when it comes to style.
You don't need to listen to me Smile

ghostyslovesheep · 15/02/2016 22:35

OMG I've just realised you are my teenage daughter - turn that Ipad off NOW young lady it's bedtime Angry

Lottie2611 · 15/02/2016 22:36
Hmm
0christmastree5 · 15/02/2016 22:38

If more people realised these legs look normal legs instead of expecting Kate moss syle photoshopped fiction the happier we could be. Plus more people would shorts in the summer without feeling inferior in the leg department.

ghostyslovesheep · 15/02/2016 22:38

the wind will change and your face will stick like that - turn it off now or there's no ice skating tomorrow

RudeElf · 15/02/2016 22:40

Grin ghosty

LilacSpunkMonkey · 15/02/2016 22:42

This thread should be renamed 'Return of the Goady Fuckers' because by God there's a couple of right ones on here!

jellycake · 15/02/2016 22:49

OP - you sound like my Gran!

GarlicBake · 16/02/2016 00:02

I've missed out 150 posts - sorry (ish.) But in case no-one said it yet: The only thing wrong with that outfit is she didn't let her hairs grow Grin

No, she shouldn't have worn tights, socks or a tan.
Yes, her real legs are just fine.
And they'd have been even 'realer' if they'd been hairy!

LaurieFairyCake · 16/02/2016 00:03

I think she's got great legs. Nice human pale legs that match the rest of her.

She's clearly not a daft twat like me who has more than once put fake tan on my legs and not done my arms and face.

She looks amazing.

GarlicBake · 16/02/2016 00:14

Sleb legs with hair.

GarlicBake · 16/02/2016 00:14

Sorry, IPaid, I've probably just caused you an attack of the vapours Wink

iPaid · 16/02/2016 07:11

It has been a weird thread, Garlic. Your contribution has finished it off nicely Grin

I can't believe I'm posting on this thread, but I think she looks fantastic. And her legs look strong and muscular and fantastic.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 16/02/2016 08:37

Holy shit Chippednailvarnish, that Ronsealed bloke is hilarious!Grin

"She should have had a sunbed or a fake tan"
So what you're actually saying Lottie is that her skin is the wrong colour and she should change it? I used to get comments like "you could do with a tan" and it used to really fuck me off. No, I do not need a tan. Just accept my skin the colour it is, which happens to be pale because I'm a Brit. I will not risk skin cancer or smear god knows what on my skin for the sake of fashion.

"You can get a fake tan for paler skinned ladies so it looks perfectly natural while giving them a healthy glow."
Implying that pale = unhealthy looking. It doesn't Lottie. What is says is the person isn't a slave to fashion and has deceided not to alter the colour of their skin to abide by some stupid rule that says women should be tanned (this season). I told the fashion world to fuck off years ago thankfully, and embrace my natural skin colour. Seeing as you admit to being into fashion I wonder if you'd suddenly find pale legs less hideous if the likes of Chanel or Karl Lagerfeld said pale is in.

Gabilan · 16/02/2016 09:02

If you're pale skinned it's not generally "natural" to tan, although yes some redheads do. But what's "natural" is to be pale, except for a few weeks when in northern climates you can get out and get some sun. It's an evolved balance between being able to block out sun so you're less likely to get skin cancer and being able to allow sunlight through so you're stimulated to produce vitamin D. Pale people are adapted to environments that have less sunlight and so for them pale is natural.

We tend to view tans as somehow looking "better" because we've been conditioned to, not because it is actually healthier or natural. Tans used to be a sign that you worked outdoors and were therefore poor, so there was snobbery against them. As increased leisure time and easier travel meant sitting around in the sun was a sign of wealth and leisure, tans were lauded as "healthy". Pale people were the poor sods in factories. We've now caught up with the fact that actually tans are just damaged skin and therefore unhealthy. Well some of us have caught up, others haven't and just cover themselves in god knows what chemicals to create that unhealthy, part-baked look.

Gwenhwyfar · 16/02/2016 09:11

"s increased leisure time and easier travel meant sitting around in the sun was a sign of wealth and leisure, tans were lauded as "healthy". Pale people were the poor sods in factories. "

Tanning is still seen as linked to wealth, with the hoi polloi using fake tan instead.

squoosh · 16/02/2016 11:14

Julianne Moore's pale legs look fab! It's the shoes that look shit.

squoosh · 16/02/2016 11:21

'I'm very interested in fashion, and personally do things to enhance myself.'

Well you can't be that interested in fashion if you're still dipping yourself in fake tan. Fake tan is as about as fashionable as Alan Titchmarsh.

I personally love that pale skin is 'in' at the moment. I think all skin tones should be permanently in fashion.
