Do these stars not look in the mirror?
Or have honest friends to tell them?
Why does no-one wear tights anymore?

Aah!

So all the women with bare knees didn't look glamorous that's it? Including her friend then presumably.

Where's all the threads and opining on them then?

Aquiver · 15/02/2016 21:20

Her legs spoil the outfit.

That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a long time. Her own legs spoil her outfit?!?

She looks absolutely beautiful in the photos.

ZiggyFartdust · 15/02/2016 21:21

Knees have to be covered to be glamorous?

RudeElf · 15/02/2016 21:22

Ok so knees are unglamourous. What about elbows? Are they ok? Knuckles? Can we have those? Where is the book containing this unmovable facts of glamour?

gooseberryroolz · 15/02/2016 21:22

So to summarise, both ipaid and Lottie are aspiring fashionistas who live by some minority mantra of "Knees, bad. Orange, good" that baffles the rest of us?

It killed 15 minutes, I suppose.

Lottie2611 · 15/02/2016 21:23

Nope! I'm lucky enough to be in a foreign country a lot of the time so I don't need to fake it!

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 15/02/2016 21:24

Dammit, my unglamorous knees must be constantly ruining my outfits.

There really should be someone pointing out the heinous crime that bare legged women are committing.

NoelHeadbands · 15/02/2016 21:25

Phew, for a little while there I wasn't sure if OP was being pale-ist, sexist or ageist.

Turns out it's just about good old fashioned standards, knees should be covered at formal events at all times, if one is to maintain the air of glamour.

gooseberryroolz · 15/02/2016 21:25

So you go the no-fuss carcinogenic route?

Lottie2611 · 15/02/2016 21:28

I bet there's a load of very offended Oompa Loompas reading this who will never wear a dress again.

A knee-jazzle?

Gwenhwyfar · 15/02/2016 21:33

"Because they are uncomfortable."

More uncomfortable than bare legs in the winter? They must be freezing.

MistressDeeCee · 15/02/2016 21:34

The posts slagging off women about their looks and style are becoming boringly regular on here. The one about Beyonce made meHmm those who didnt like her (& sounded oddly personal about it) were so spiteful. Madonna, Rhianna, Victoria Beckham, and now this one...probably more threads I missed (thank God) There are occasional threads about male celebs on here but the scornful vitriol is reserved for women.

Anyway yeah, YABU to judge a woman so superficially. & I can't see whats wrong with her legs. Tights with those shoes would be silly and anyway she can wear what she likes.... as long as when she opens her mouth to talk its not spite about other women

RudeElf · 15/02/2016 21:36

Yep. Depressingly so.

Lottie2611 · 15/02/2016 21:39

Much better!

And there's nearly always a link to the Daily Fail.

snowymountaintops · 15/02/2016 21:40

I must admit I did think ugh I wouldn't go bare-legged and short skirted in the middle of a British winter unless I was about 17, actually even at 17 I still think it isn't the best look out there.

Gwenhwyfar · 15/02/2016 21:41

I don't have a problem with white skin, but if women are wearing summer clothes in winter then surely it's too much vanity. They will be suffering.

Gabilan · 15/02/2016 21:41

One of my knees currently has a fetching scab from falling off my bike. They were both bruised from the fall and for a while I was worried that if I died and had a post mortem, people might come to the wrong conclusion. It all looked a bit more carpet burn than road rash.

Still, they're very functional leg hinges and I like them.

LeaLeander · 15/02/2016 21:41

The disingenuosity on this thread is rather amusing. All of those who scorn some people's notions of glamour, of a polished appearance, etc. - are you completely au natural ? No make-up, skin lotion, hair coloring, spanx, nail varnish, jewelry, tattoos, etc. among the lot of you?

Or is it all just a matter of degree and opinion - and if so, why the defensive rush to deny the OP the legitimacy of her opinion?

NoelHeadbands · 15/02/2016 21:42

Best keep them covered usual for all our sakes. It'd only 'spoil the effect'.

You know, the effect of...erm...well ...

having knees Confused

snowymountaintops · 15/02/2016 21:42

I agree Lottie that the tanned legs look much better but I do think that they would look ridiculous in the middle of winter. I'd wear woolly tights and chunky boots probably!

ThursdayLastWeek · 15/02/2016 21:42

Why Lottie?

I honestly don't see why one is better than the other Confused

snowymountaintops · 15/02/2016 21:43

Just because we've all got knees doesn't mean that the whole world needs to see them Grin!
