To think that Victoria Beckham looks plain daft?

She's in New York to launch her latest collection and has been papped strutting out of hotels in some dreadful outfits. All can be viewed in the Daily Mail but for those of you who don't like to click I will post a few and you can tell me if I'm BU.

I would happily wear the bright pants and fab checked coat. Also like the yellow jumper and skirt, although i'm sure my brother had a similar print of bedroom wallpaper in the 80's.
Only thing I didn't like was the huge sleeves on jumper but maybe she has a bad cold and needed somewhere to stash the snotty tissues.

mrsmugoo · 12/02/2016 18:21

I like her style. It's all subjective!!

iPaid · 12/02/2016 18:22

You aren't saying "Oh I don't like this dress because xyz" or similar. You're just being nasty.

No I'm not being nasty. I'm saying she looks daft in those outfits. I think she's very pretty and her hair extensions are fab but her clothes look silly. And some people are disagreeing with me - it's a discussion!

i'se seen worse, she's clean, fresh looking, and not doing anyone any harm.

Yabu and bitchy also.

DonkeyOaty · 12/02/2016 18:24

Haha yes Arf I wore rara skirts and lots of plastic beads. Oh dear.

Anyway back to VB. She looks great.

DionChappie · 12/02/2016 18:26

I like nearly everything she's wearing. I wear similar clothes. I'm not a fan of hers but it's quite refreshing to see her in something other than pencil skirts. I think it's sad that we are mean to people simply because we don't like what they're wearing. She does not offend me.

Want2bSupermum · 12/02/2016 18:27

Give the lady a break. I was ready to laugh at her when she launched a fashion label. Well she has been very successful. I have two dresses of her that I wear for work. They are fab. I just wish she would do a lesser label of dresses that are machine washable.

I also admire her parenting. I have seen headlines regarding the elder one but I think they have done a good job of shielding their DC from the media. Can't be easy for them raising their DC as well as maintaining a high profile publicly.

ManneryTowers · 12/02/2016 18:27

Yes. She clearly looks terrible.
She's had four children, she runs multiple successful businesses and travels internationally on a frequent basis.
But fuck all that. Let's tear another woman down because we don't like her jumper!
Let me know when you post a similar topic about a successful man OP.

mewkins · 12/02/2016 18:28

I think she looks great!!!

IfNotNowThenWhenever · 12/02/2016 18:31

I love most of those outfits. Not keen on the Orange pants that's all. Her hair looks lovely too.

DinosaursRoar · 12/02/2016 18:31

Well, lots of people are saying there's nothing silly about them, which bits do you think are silly?

Is it the lack of flesh on show, the chunkiness of the knits (which have been around a bit, but due to our lack of cold winter, haven't really caught on), or the jumper over the hands bit? Is it the move away from tight fitting clothing to loose shapes? (that's been a couple of seasons coming, but if you're still in the Kardasian mindset of figure showing clothing, it might look strange)

Honestly, it's perfectly normal but stylish, hardly Lady GaGa clothing. I like the baggier clothes look, reminds me of the 90s.

PennyHasNoSurname · 12/02/2016 18:32

Women dont half like to shit on other women. You didnt get this sort of nonsense in the Nineties. Certainly the Spice Girls "girl power" movement has been dead and buried

Here is a successful business woman, good mother and seemingly quite a well respected person all round and all people want to do is bitch about her.

PennyHasNoSurname · 12/02/2016 18:33

My post was to the OP and the naysayers. Nice to see some positive responses on this thread too

iPaid · 12/02/2016 18:35

God some of you are getting touchy on her behalf! It's not being mean or bitchy to give an opinion on the clothes of someone who relentlessly puts herself in the public eye. I've not said she looks thin or haggard or miserable (insults that are often hurled at VB). I've said her outfits are daft.

And it makes me cringe when people call the DM the Daily Fail like they're being original and oh so witty. You're not!

I'm always in awe of the whole family and their success and pleasant demeanour. They work bloody hard and yet prioritise their kids. They are both now worth the same as each other. Good for them.

iPaid · 12/02/2016 18:36

What has the fact that she has 4 children got to do with her outfits?

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 12/02/2016 18:37

The whole family are just gorgeous

GarlicBake · 12/02/2016 18:37

I like the way she looks.

I love Fashion-with-a-capital-F. Beckham has the style, the know-how, the resources and the skinny to wear it.

I do recognise that Fashion looks daft to a lot of people! It wouldn't be art otherwise, would it now?!

So YANBU and neither am I (or Beckham.) It's a three-way draw Grin

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 12/02/2016 18:39

You sound bitchy and really quite pathetic with your dismissive opinions on what another woman is wearing, OP. Own it.

I too am glad that there are women who don't feel the need to do this to feel good about themselves.

IguanaTail · 12/02/2016 18:39

Because she has to prioritise them in her life too. And despite that she is phenomenally successful.

DinosaursRoar · 12/02/2016 18:39

Actually thinking about it - all those outfits look like an up-to-date version of 90s clothing, and the 'sleeves over hands' thing was very 90s as well.

RortyCrankle · 12/02/2016 18:40

What she wears wouldn't suit me but I see nothing wrong with those outfits.
Would you perhaps prefer her to wear a modest little number like this?:

bigbuttons · 12/02/2016 18:40

I have always found her a very, very annoying showbiz personality-type, but actually there's nothing wrong with those outfits.
I've seen an awful lot worse than that.
