To think that Victoria Beckham looks plain daft?

She's in New York to launch her latest collection and has been papped strutting out of hotels in some dreadful outfits. All can be viewed in the Daily Mail but for those of you who don't like to click I will post a few and you can tell me if I'm BU.

She looks better than I do.

I assume you must look better than she does op. Can you post a picture of yourself so we can see.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 12/02/2016 18:41

To me, this pictures prove my theory on fashion. If you are stuck thin, you can look good in pretty much anything.
I think she looks good but if those clothes were on an average size 14 , 40 year old woman they would look frumpy and odd.
I don't think the OP was bashing Miss. Beckham at all. She was giving her opinion on her clothes and asking for others' views. I don't see anything wrong with that. I'm all for girl power and women sticking together but I still might not like what you're wearing.

steff13 · 12/02/2016 18:41

I don't think she looks bad, but I do think she looks unhappy all the time.

maybemyrtle · 12/02/2016 18:42

YABU because she looks great and the outfits aren't dreadful.

A few of them I personally wouldn't wear mainly because I am heftier than her but I really love the top one with the culottes. The oversized grey jumper in the 2nd set of pics is similar to one I have ordered and sadly had to send back because it was just a little too big for me. Lovely shape though, esp on the arms.

These kind of comments are so silly. Unless you're perfect, you have no right to comment on anyone or anything else?

'Own it' ? Arf! Ok girlfriend Hmm

Here's a video of VB in a lovely coat

My theory: because she's hungry!

I think she looks good. It's nice to see a celeb not going for the boring American preppy look.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 12/02/2016 18:45

Well, if you will start vapid threads trying to get people to agree with you in your disparaging comments about another woman then admit that is what you're doing.

Arf? Is that a belch? I'm delighted not to have friends like you.

BunnyTyler · 12/02/2016 18:46

I like the red trousers and coat!

DinosaursRoar · 12/02/2016 18:50

OP - why do you think the outfits are silly? Which bits don't you think look good? (and do you not remember the 90s?)

GarlicBake · 12/02/2016 18:52

Oh, lol, she even made the 'hunger' joke about herself in that weird interview! Game, set & match to VB.

CultureSucksDownWords · 12/02/2016 18:54

OP could you say what aspects of her clothes are daft? I can't see anything wrong with what she's wearing. Not all of it is to my taste but it doesn't seem daft to me. It's trousers, jumpers, skirts - all normal, no?

Quietattheback · 12/02/2016 18:54

Don't like her. Don't dislike her. Some of those clothes I couldn't pull off wouldn't wear, some of them are nice.

I think she looks fine and you should leave her alone.

hooliodancer · 12/02/2016 18:54

I think those clothes would look good on someone bigger. I think I could wear them- and I would if I could afford them!! Lots of fashion only looks good on very thin people, but I think a lot of her stuff looks very wearable generally.

By the way, I think she does restrict her diet. I once knew someone who knew her in a food related way and she is very strict about what she eats. That is totally her choice if she wants to do that, it depends what is important to you. All I was saying is personally I couldn't do that because I don't have a small appetite! I don't think it is particularly shocking that people 'still' think that people have to restrict what they eat to be very slim. There is lots written about models etc who say they had to eat very little to stay the size their agents wanted them to be and were miserable. I have read interviews with Liz Hurley who says she restricts what she eats to stay slim.

Chippednailvarnish · 12/02/2016 18:55

Well I can't see her tits and arse or tell if she waxes, so in my book she's look good.

iPaid · 12/02/2016 18:57

I wasn't disparaging the woman, I was criticising her outfit. Big difference. And I wasn't trying to get people to agree with me; my OP said 'you can tell me if I'm BU'

See?

justnippingin · 12/02/2016 18:58

Ooooo I like her look.

CultureSucksDownWords · 12/02/2016 18:58

What is your criticism of her outfits? Other than generally being daft?

Ifiwasabadger · 12/02/2016 18:59

I love all these outfits, so sue me!

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 12/02/2016 19:05

Oh yes, I see OP. I was distracted by the "To think that Victoria Beckham looks daft" thing... along with the fact that (presumably) a woman has posted a thread about another woman, to negatively critique what she's wearing, having plundered a tabloid for 'evidence' photos.

I shall reconsider... Yes, you are being unreasonable. HTH

No wonder we have such a successful and long-standing patriarchy. I hate that some women exercise themselves so much over what another woman looks like, really hate it.

TheUltimate · 12/02/2016 19:07

I quite like a few of her outfits and especially like the jumpers. But then I wear huge oversized knit jumpers that are long in the sleeve.

Not keen on the print of the pleated skirt but I don't think she looks daft. I think she looks quite fashionista Blush

TSSDNCOP · 12/02/2016 19:08

I think that the boots with coulottes look in the first shot are great, I think that's the only way to wear these trousers in winter all the other variations I've seen look awful.

I also think that very long sleeves are already here if the lovely merino jumpers I got in Uniqlo are anything to go by. They cover my hands and I'm an urangutan.

She's wearing high end designs OP. They will be watered down significantly by the time they reach Next Grin

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 12/02/2016 19:11

Hooliodancer Of course she restricts her diet! I love being a size 8, but I eat very little and I'm hungry most of the time. My choice and not particularly healthy but true of most very thin people I'm afraid.

UhtredRagnorsson · 12/02/2016 19:13

The knitwear is fabulous. She looks nice. Bit cold possibly.
