To think that Victoria Beckham looks plain daft?

She's in New York to launch her latest collection and has been papped strutting out of hotels in some dreadful outfits. All can be viewed in the Daily Mail but for those of you who don't like to click I will post a few and you can tell me if I'm BU.

I am not so keen on the middle outfit you posted as it looks a bit too exaggerated and pure catwalk to me, like a concept that hasn't yet been distilled down for actual wearing yet. But I think she looks to absolutely amazing in photos one and three.

CatchAPlaneToBarcelona · 14/02/2016 05:38

And I love the one with the red trousers, sorry missed that one.

CatchAPlaneToBarcelona · 14/02/2016 05:42

But by Christ, she's thin. I can't even begin to imagine the pain and the effort and the discipline that goes into looking like that. She would look better for another stone on her and still be very slim.

bakeoffcake · 14/02/2016 09:19

As others have said she just so bloody unhappy all the time. Everything about her, that we see, is so contrived and planned it must be exhausting for her.

BoboChic · 14/02/2016 09:20

I like what she's wearing now much more than her usual stuff. But I do think she's incredibly slim. I prefer a tiny bit more flesh (a la Giovanna Battaglia).

roundtable · 14/02/2016 09:24

The coat, the orange trousers and the yellow jumper are really lovely I think.

Hygge · 14/02/2016 10:48

Maybe the posing and the invisible phone thing are nerves.

She doesn't seem very confident to me really, despite her career (past and present).

She's been quoted as saying she feels embarrassed to smile in photographs as she doesn't like how she looks, and to me that sounds insecure rather than arrogant.

Lots of people put their hand over their mouth in photo's, or hide behind their hair, or smile in a way that doesn't show their teeth, or turn to one side rather than the other. Or just flat out refuse to be photographed at all.

She can't do that. Her own career, her relationship, her friendships, her children, everything about her means she's going to be in the public eye, and that means she's going to be photographed whether she likes it or not.

And if she's practicing poses for hours so she looks right in them, that to me says that she feels very insecure in how she will appear and is trying to make sure in her own mind that she looks good.

Maybe some people do that out of arrogance or whatever, but looking at those two photo's above, she doesn't look like she's thinking "I look great" to me, she looks more worried than that, more vulnerable. T

The one with David, he looks happy and secure in himself, she looks like she wishes she wasn't there at all.

BeaufortBelle · 14/02/2016 10:54

Or, she might just have had an itchy ear Smile

whatdoIget · 14/02/2016 10:57

I always think she looks nervous rather than arrogant. The ear thing is something I tend to do when I'm feeling self-conscious or unsure. Unfortunately it tends to attract more attention because people ask why I'm doing it, or think I'm on the phone Blush

MarshaBrady · 14/02/2016 11:00

I think a mix of finding doing something to do with your arm, making a line and habit.

laceysue · 14/02/2016 11:14

I think she imagines herself as some latter day Greta Garbo type figure and has built up this mysterious allure around herself. It's a contrived look, not at all natural, and as a mother of teenage boys, and a little girl a bit strange to see imo.

laceysue · 14/02/2016 12:26

Thinking about it, she sure courts herself lots of publicity for someone so nervous. Surely if she was so nervous she wouldn't be constantly setting up photo shoots for the paparazzi.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 14/02/2016 12:30

I've always thought she was a bit of a nervy person but I agree with lacey, she arranges the paps and she isn't photographed unless she wants it.

The Beckhams choose stealth when they want it.

NeedsAsockamnesty · 14/02/2016 12:31

I often wonder if the arm by her head distracts from her head being so disproportionate with her body

Cocolepew · 14/02/2016 12:54

I like a longer sleeve but those would be annoying. They are bound to get wet when she's doing the washing up. I hate having wet cuffs.
Where is the prancing/walking video?

Cocolepew · 14/02/2016 12:56

Smiling VB

Did someone on the thread say the country doesn't have an anorexia crisis? Why on earth would you say that?

the independent

TheHiphopopotamus · 14/02/2016 13:32

I've just watched one of the videos, the one where she's wearing the grey jumper and culottes Grin

She does this little prancing side step so she's in the middle of the doorway for when she struts to the car Grin

She must spend hours thinking about staging and setting up these 'random' photo ops.

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 14/02/2016 13:39

I saw her at Wimbledon a few years ago. Her behaviour was the strangest I've ever seen. She would poke her head up, neck stretched, every few seconds, then carry out a series of very odd little movements followed by one of three poses (resting her chin on her hand, head tilted, or inclined towards David, hand resting at side of face). She literally did it for the whole match. David was sitting next to her and just ignored the whole thing, so must have been normal.

I've never seen anyone look both attention seeking and twitchy to the point of plain weirdness at the same time.

No idea what kind of person she is, just an account of what I observed on my one Beckham encounter. It was a bit bizarre and looked bloody exhausting.

CatchAPlaneToBarcelona · 14/02/2016 13:51

I think if you know there will be cameras with bloody great zoom lenses trained on you the whole time you would pose so that you at least look okay in whatever photos were published. They are going to be taken anyway so you may as well have some control over how you look in them.

I like VB, I think she is a clever, canny and funny woman and while I don't rate her as a singer (obviously!) I do think she's a talented designer. I just wish she didn't look so bloody miserable all the time.

bakeoffcake · 14/02/2016 14:00

I remember the Wimbeldon thing! It was indeed mad behaviour.

It was as if she was hugely anxious and couldn't relax for a second. She must think everyone is looking at her the whole time, rather than the men's final tennis match, which was going on at the timeHmm

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 14/02/2016 14:00

I get your point Barcelona but I've seen famous people before in different and similar situations, and they just act more or less normally. It just looked so contrived and strange.

I do get the impression that she is always trying to create an identity for herself, the poses, the not-smiling etc, but to me, it just ends up looking forced and affected.

Part of me feels a bit sorry for her, but I genuinely can't put my finger on why.

CatchAPlaneToBarcelona · 14/02/2016 14:14

Grin at coco I used to have a really expensive cashmere jumper that had very long sleeves and I was always getting them wet Grin

AnyFucker · 14/02/2016 15:33

I doubt Vicki spends much time doing the washing up..

Behooven · 14/02/2016 15:39

LOL, side step slide, side step slide, forward step - prance
How utterly bizarre!
