To think that Victoria Beckham looks plain daft?

She's in New York to launch her latest collection and has been papped strutting out of hotels in some dreadful outfits. All can be viewed in the Daily Mail but for those of you who don't like to click I will post a few and you can tell me if I'm BU.

She gets up at 6 to do an hour's workout.

We wouldn't get on in RL Grin

WorraLiberty · 12/02/2016 23:57

Everyone I know that thin puts in a lot of effort.

That's possibly because around 65% of Brits are overweight or obese.

I know people over the age of 40 who put in a lot of effort and I know people who put none in at all, to be fair.

Hulababy · 13/02/2016 00:01

I think the DM need to retrain their photographers if those are the best shots they were able to get!

Seriously, it's very easy to get a bad shot of some one. If they really wanted to they'd be able to get much better ones. Clearly they don't want to as its a much better story apparently to have her looking wrong isn't it?!

Alisvolatpropiis · 13/02/2016 00:24

I don't think putting effort in to being thin is necessarily bad. Surely being complacently fat is worse, given that the UK currently has an obesity problem, not an anorexic one?

Headmelt · 13/02/2016 01:08

I don't like outfit 2 and I don't like the trousers in 1 and 5. I like VB. It's very tragic that the media have to stoop so low just because VB has become so successful. It suits the media to portray VB as always being pouty and serious rather than happy and smiling. Well done to her and David, and their children, they are still very down to earth despite their success and wealth.

TheHiphopopotamus · 13/02/2016 07:05

I think her fashion range is boring and often looks cheap (even though it isn't). Those red trousers are awful.

She's not a fashion designer though, really is she?

Say what you like about Stella McCartney but at least she put the time in learning her trade.

I agree loads with snowybelles post up thread.

WanderingTrolley1 · 13/02/2016 07:21

Yabu.

I think she looks good.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 13/02/2016 09:08

I wonder if David looks back ruefully to the days when VB was plumper and spilling out of one of her skintight black leather numbers rather than all her flowing baggy numbers?
Just a thought. I know women should dress for themselves blah blah

If I wore the top with the huge sleeves one or all of the following would happen; The sleeves would be filthy after 5 mins, they would trail in my morning coffee, get caught in my zips, wrap themselves around the car gearstick and then catch fire on the grill when I rustled up the kid's tea.

It is not true that most slim people are hungry most of the time! You can be slim and healthy, you don't have to be starving yourself.

Last time I was in the same room as VB she was incredibly frail.

She was stood behind my ill and quite underweight 11yo child and hiding quite successfully. She took an age to hobble across a room and up a few steps to a stage and was all hunched over.

She was a fair bit smaller then than she is now tho. If she is looking and feeling healthy now well done to her

HandsomeGroomGiveHerRoom · 13/02/2016 10:58

I quite like the black outfit (#5) and the grey jumper with the coulottes. Not keen on the boots, hate the yellow (that skirt is shocking!) and the red trousers are like something from Scooby Do.

It's all quite 80s - which is appeals in some ways and not in others. Her poses and David Sylvian pouting make her look as daft as brush and as camp as a row of tents, but I kind of like that.

candykane25 · 13/02/2016 11:09

I like all the OPs photos. Her style improves every year as she tries different things. I like the longer lengths and longer tops. Very elegant and feel feminine too.
I prefer these styles to the Roland mouret phase.

GarlicBake · 13/02/2016 11:14

The only person who's said that most slim people are hungry most of the time is a poster who is very slim. She certainly wasn't body-shaming herself.

Victoria Beckham has said she's hungry most of the time. She chews for ages. She quizzes waiters to have them remove butter, oil and salad dressings. She doesn't eat portions that can't fit into the palm of her hand. She only eats fruit till 3pm and then limits her intake to 500 calories for the rest of the day. When she decided on a fourth child, she started eating more carbs - this suggests her diet's so restricted that her periods may have stopped. She doesn't have an eating disorder by all accounts - she's incredibly disciplined. And she isn't body-shaming herself, either!

Her BMI hovers around 18, the supposed minimum for models in Europe.

Behooven · 13/02/2016 11:20

needsasock wasn't she measured as having the body mass of an 8 year old boy a little while back? At times she definitely does look frail and there's a sadness about her despite her privileged life. Who knows what's going on in someone else's life.
I like looking at her changing styles though.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 13/02/2016 11:43

I think that's called a functioning anorexic but each to their own.
I hope she gives herself a day off, I always cut loose on a sunday. A creme egg fits quite snugly in the palm of your hand!

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 13/02/2016 12:12

How anyone here knows what she eats is a mystery unless you've sat down by her and scrutinised her plate and even that would only be a snapshot.

She's had 4 children so her body seems to have been in good shape and well nourished enough to manage that. Whatever she does or doesn't eat seems to suit her and she exercises religiously, I read that in a Vogue interview iirc.

I like her, apart from the 'prancing to the car' pap shots she comes across as a good egg and decent role model.

A1Sharon · 13/02/2016 13:10

I think she smokes a lot too.

UhtredRagnorsson · 13/02/2016 14:02

Kerala1 sorry but you're wrong. I'm well over 40, I don't do shedloads of exercise and I don't 'restrict my diet'. I eat the way I always did. I eat what I want to eat. And I'm the same size I was as a teenager (4-6 in today's money, 6-8 before vanity sizing became prevalent). I know I eat less than some people, but, you know - some people overeat. And over drink. And some people just are small. That's not necessarily the case for VB but that doesn't mean it's not the case for anyone.

ssd · 13/02/2016 14:16

I'd just love to see some photo's of her looking relaxed and happy, like she's enjoying it all.

TwatMagnet · 13/02/2016 14:19

I've never seen a picture of VB smoking. Has anyone?

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 13/02/2016 14:20

I've never seen a picture of her smoking either.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 13/02/2016 14:21

She's only photographed when she wants, it's rare to see candid pap shots where she's been caught unaware.

ssd · 13/02/2016 14:22

it always amazes me, VB threads on mn, some people like me give their opinion but its not based on fact, just what they see when they see her picture in something or other, then others come on and they're bloody experts, can tell you what she eats/smokes/farts, like they live with her

squoosh · 13/02/2016 14:30

I seem to remember a photo of her smoking a cigar. She may well have just been a social smoker back in the Spice Girls days and has now knocked it on the head. Lots of celebs are secret smokers and try to avoid being papped with a fag in hand.
