To want my front door back? **Warning: spider pictures from the outset!** title edited by MNHQ

We have many tube spiders living around the front door.

They terrify me, but I can cope with them when they're in their tubes.

However, Saturday evening I couldn't get in as one was right by the key lock. I had to tap on the window to alert dh to open the door, whilst I hurtled, bent over, through the door.

I've counted 8 large tubes so far. They are growing in numbers!

YANBU. I would admit defeat, and move house 😄

MajesticSeaFlapFlap · 09/02/2016 16:25

Fuck the Door
Set fire to the whole house immediately , possibly the whole street

BlueRaptor · 09/02/2016 16:26

YABU to even consider wanting that door back. Clearly the only solution is to burn the door. And the house. Burn it all and move as far away from those monsters as you can.

SmallGreenBouncyBall · 09/02/2016 16:27

those are not tube webs! they are normal house spiders

Hellojoe · 09/02/2016 16:28

What!!! I second burn down the house Shock

SquinkiesRule · 09/02/2016 16:29

Get the vacuum and scream as they go flying up the tube, then vacuum up crumbs or noisy hard lumps of stuff to make sure they are in the bag.

SomedayMyPrinceWillCome · 09/02/2016 16:32

This

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 09/02/2016 16:33

Are they the green fanged monsters? Scary.

But Please don't kill them, can't bear people who kill spiders

Tellmealittle · 09/02/2016 16:35

SmallGreenBouncyBall, I've researched the spiders and came to the conclusion of tube web. Only as they have the 6 trip lines radiating from their tube which they have 6 legs touching (whilst in the tube).

Do house spiders do this too?

They probably aren't trying to kill you and take over your house.

So that's good news, eh?

SmallGreenBouncyBall · 09/02/2016 16:42

you might have tubes as well az house spiders then.
tube webs have shorter legs and 'tubbier' bodies. and the fangs glow green/blue if you shine a torch at them at night.

Tellmealittle · 09/02/2016 16:43

One has been there for months (assuming it's the same one) and I've become quite fond of it. I'm strangely fascinated by them but not when they are out and looking all menacing.

Moonandstarsandback · 09/02/2016 16:44

Eek! Do they live in the drainpipes? They look quite big...and black....

Moonandstarsandback · 09/02/2016 16:46

They don't look like my house spiders. They are much more brown??

cjt110 · 09/02/2016 16:46

NOOOO chance I'd be going past those Sad YY to burning down the house. How the chuffing hell do we have spiders that size in the UK(?)

Ginkypig · 09/02/2016 16:47

You could have put a fucking warning I nearly vomited on my iPad!

No advice but good luck with that monster!

CheesyWeez · 09/02/2016 16:47

Read Charlotte's Web immediately! Then you'll love spiders. They're all Charlotte's babies.

Fairylea · 09/02/2016 16:48

Arghhhhhhhh!!!!

I would run away and leave forever.

gatekeeper · 09/02/2016 16:48

Give over man....they are lovely normal 'hoose' spidders

Tellmealittle · 09/02/2016 16:50

Can you see the 6 trip lines? there are 6 on the wood and then 6 on the brick work. It alternates each night.

If they are house spiders than I'll be much more rational.

It's just when I was reading about tube spiders, they are apparently aggressive and have a painful bite.

Tellmealittle · 09/02/2016 16:53

Sorry for the lack of warning.
