To think its none of your fucking business Dawson!

Dawson's creek has to be one of the most frustrating shows ever. I have watched it end to end around 8 times. (Currently watching again) and each time if get more and more pissed off with this whole idea that Dawson has some sort of claim over Joey's virginity! All the fretting and hand wringing over whether she had sex with pacey and then her lying when she did and Gretchen telling her she has to go and tell him the truth. BOLLOCKS. She has to tell no-one. Her sex life was never Dawson's business (except that one time way later in university when they had sex with each other) he has no right to know any of it. I hate that whole storyline and the several years of pandering to the notion he had!

Yes when I was on TV theme tunes were 'Heart in my head' for the first season, then 'I don't wanna wait' for the remainder. On the DVD box set they were the other way around.

RIP Heath :( Such an awesome actor. I still love that film but it makes me sad to think he's no longer here.

CaveMum · 05/02/2016 13:35

10 Things I Hate About You is a modern Classic!

I never watched Dawson's Creek but JVDB was very funny in "Don't Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23", playing an exaggerated version of himself trading off his Dawson's Creek years Grin

RudeElf · 05/02/2016 13:37

He really was funny. Taking the piss out of himself and showing a great sense of humour.

FaithAscending · 05/02/2016 13:51

Don't trust definitely showed JVDB's sense of humour!

My favourite line from 10 things is definitely One of these days you're gonna get bitch-slapped, and I'm not gonna do a thing to stop it Grin Teacher to Joey.

CaveMum · 05/02/2016 14:09

10 Things is one of the most quotable films:

It's just a party!
And Hell is just a sauna

Highsteaks · 05/02/2016 14:15

My favourite line from 10 things is 'what is it with this girl, does she have beer flavoured nipples or something?'

And also

'I have a dick on my face don't I?'

And also

'The shit hath hitteth the fan'

Ok, I will stop now! Grin

RudeElf · 05/02/2016 14:16

Oh i really have to watch 10 things again. If only for the lovely heath. Sad

FatimaLovesBread · 05/02/2016 15:25

Oh I love 10 things I hate about you.

Has some awesome quotes. Mean girls is also a good one for quotes

I used to have the 10 things soundtrack, very similar theme to DH, lots of angst ridden songs

sonjadog · 05/02/2016 16:02

I've been off work for two days now due to chest infection and have been watching a lot of DC online. Agree that episode is hugely annoying. I hate the way everyone panders to Dawson all the time. Pacey and Joey should tell him to fuck off and get on with their lives. His parents really should sit down with him and tell him in no uncertain terms to get over himself.

Also annoying is the episode just before Joey funs off with Pacey for the summer. Dawson and Joey are at a wedding and Joey is almost crying at the thought of a summer without Pacey, but Dawson doesn't care because she will be with him and only what he wants counts. It makes me want to punch him.

sonjadog ive just had 3 weeks off with a chest infection! Still not right. Settle in!

sonjadog · 05/02/2016 18:08

Excellent! I could work through Friends and DC and do a comparative study.

AmysTiara · 05/02/2016 18:09

I love this highly current thread Grin i always had a thing for Jack. When he later appeared on Charmed i was ecstatic

CalleighDoodle · 05/02/2016 18:12

Oh yes to agent brody

WhoWants2Know · 05/02/2016 18:47

Yes, persnickety is a real word. (by which I mean that my mum used to say it.)

riverboat1 · 05/02/2016 19:26

Oh god I loved (well, love, who am I kidding) Dawson's Creek. Pacey was such a huge crush for me, and I was so into Pacey and Joey and so full of revulsion for Daeson and his fivehead.

I have recently rewatched the first four seasons, but can't face the boring college years. In my viewing of DC I do seasons 1-4, then skip to the one where Pacey and Joey are locked in the supermarket together, then skip to the two part series finalé. Bwahahaha Dawson all alone and Pacey and Joey 4EVA.

FatimaLovesBread · 05/02/2016 20:18

Oh God the spirometry with the wedding where Joey is sad about Pacey going away for the summer and Dawson is just happy she's staying annoys me almost as much as the friends episode where Rachel is busy at work and Ross turns up with a bloody picnic basket and wonders why she's annoyed Angry

I agree riverboat, I watch season 1-4 (oh who am I kidding, just 3 and 4 really) then skip five and six until the drunk house party episode where Pacey puts Joey to bed and they kiss. Then will watch the kmart one, the one where they snog in his office and then the one where Eddie comes back and spoils it, then skip to the final 2 Blush

RudeElf · 05/02/2016 20:40

Flaming eddie doling! He was a dick to joey. Could he not have stayed away and let her have pacey in peace?

And yes that episode at the wedding. She is practically dripping tears on his shoulder! What sane man wants that? He was just so determined to 'win' over pacey that he took any little victory. For guy that was so vocal about his emotions and every single thought he had he sure aas happy for her to stifle hers when it was for his benefit.

Ahh, I was obsessed with this show, and loved Joey & Pacey. Joshua Jackson was my first love.

This is making me want to re-watch, but would also skip the college years - they were boring even at the time. Was so happy Joey ended up with Pacey, although they got over Jen pretty quickly.

sonjadog · 13/02/2016 17:34

I have resurrected this thread because I still am stuck at home with a chest infection and I need stuff on watch online. I have watched the whole of DC that is available on youtube, 10 things I hate about you and Clueless. What else can you recommend in the same ilk?

riverboat1 · 13/02/2016 17:51

30 Going on 30 is pretty good, with Jennifer Garner (kind of a female version of Big).

Pitch Perfect and Legally Blonde for college-set films rather than high school.

Crazy, Stupid, Love is a great romcom but not really with a high school or college setting.

Will keep thinking!

riverboat1 · 13/02/2016 17:53

13 Going On 30, sorry

For series: The Gilmore Girls and Buffy the Vampire Slayer are great too.

RudeElf · 13/02/2016 17:57

I remember around the time i was watching DC i watched Roswell, also some programme, i think was set in Rawley college. Not sure if it was actually called rawley though. For comedy i love that 70's show but i have to pretend not to have ever heard the word feminism when i watch it Grin its on netflix.

Excellent suggestions! Thanks!

jay55 · 13/02/2016 18:01

Young Americans, had a sort of crossover episode with DC.
