Dawson's creek has to be one of the most frustrating shows ever. I have watched it end to end around 8 times. (Currently watching again) and each time if get more and more pissed off with this whole idea that Dawson has some sort of claim over Joey's virginity! All the fretting and hand wringing over whether she had sex with pacey and then her lying when she did and Gretchen telling her she has to go and tell him the truth. BOLLOCKS. She has to tell no-one. Her sex life was never Dawson's business (except that one time way later in university when they had sex with each other) he has no right to know any of it. I hate that whole storyline and the several years of pandering to the notion he had!

Amazed no-one has mentioned the hair yet . Sometimes there was so much swishy bouffanty action flying about the place it completely detracted from the storyline.

Eric was LOVELY!!! But not as lovely as Hyde yum!!

As for Joey, I adored her as well

Eric was horrible to donna! He wasnt moral! He was possessive and petty and mean.

I like to think that she loved him and made the decision she wanted him in her life, and that was that. Eric was such a moral guy...even Leo the spaced out hippie knew that, so I think it wasn't so bad that Donna waited for him. The one thing I didn't like was Donna going blonde....Donna would NEVER have done that!

And I loved Jackie and Hyde too!!!

He was hacker!! He really was. She messed him around big style. And he just waited and waited.

I struggled watching Dawson's Creek back in the day (no Sky back then) and it was only Pacey who kept me even remotely interested.

I fucking hate the character Joey. I mean loathe her... so much so I've never been able to watch Katie Holmes in anything else as seeing her brings back my Joey rage. Hated that she ended up with Pacey. he was too good for her

Grin

Such a good line! I loved how bob complains about having the feminist meetings at their house and midge says they have to because the other husbands wouldnt allow them to have it at their houses Grin

My favourtie seasons are 5-7 with the jackie/hyde stuff.

"Those Jordan almonds are for the feminists!"
I absolutely love That 70s Show, it always makes me laugh no matter how many times I have seen it! Seasons 1-4 are the golden years Grin.

She is lastgirl but very frustratingly still gave up her very achievable dreams to hang about waiting for man-baby eric do grow up for him then to gilt her at the altar. And she still hung about after that. Even when he took off to africa. Go live your life woman!

I loved Roswell too, I have them all on DVD. The male actors didn't look like teenagers in that either, probably because they were well into their 20s.

RudeElf Donna in That 70s Show is feminist....I usually hate comedy but love this one! I think it does a good job of pointing out all the stupid seventies sexist stuff through the very smart Donna's eyes! She is easily the cleverest in the show and feminist and I think we are meant to make the connection.

Watch the film John Tucker Must Die, one of my favourite teen flicks, and Bring It On. Both total cheese-fests, but they're good!

Kristen Ritter was also great in a guest role in Veronica Mars - another great high school series, though not as "easy-viewing" as Dawson's Creek.

When the Chloe character says 'when I was in high school, you were a grown man pretending to be in high school'

I flippin LOVE van der Beek in 'Don't trust the B' though, totally takes the piss out of himself. When the Chloe character says 'when I was in high school, you were a grown man pretending to be in high school'

So funny ...so sad it got cancelled, glad we get to see Kristen Ritter in Jessica Jones though.

But The Creek... I loved Jen. She was treated terribly!!

I remember around the time i was watching DC i watched Roswell, also some programme, i think was set in Rawley college. Not sure if it was actually called rawley though. For comedy i love that 70's show but i have to pretend not to have ever heard the word feminism when i watch it Grin its on netflix.

13 Going On 30, sorry

For series: The Gilmore Girls and Buffy the Vampire Slayer are great too.

30 Going on 30 is pretty good, with Jennifer Garner (kind of a female version of Big).

Pitch Perfect and Legally Blonde for college-set films rather than high school.

Crazy, Stupid, Love is a great romcom but not really with a high school or college setting.

Will keep thinking!

I have resurrected this thread because I still am stuck at home with a chest infection and I need stuff on watch online. I have watched the whole of DC that is available on youtube, 10 things I hate about you and Clueless. What else can you recommend in the same ilk?

Ahh, I was obsessed with this show, and loved Joey & Pacey. Joshua Jackson was my first love.

This is making me want to re-watch, but would also skip the college years - they were boring even at the time. Was so happy Joey ended up with Pacey, although they got over Jen pretty quickly.

Flaming eddie doling! He was a dick to joey. Could he not have stayed away and let her have pacey in peace?

And yes that episode at the wedding. She is practically dripping tears on his shoulder! What sane man wants that? He was just so determined to 'win' over pacey that he took any little victory. For guy that was so vocal about his emotions and every single thought he had he sure aas happy for her to stifle hers when it was for his benefit.
