We had friends round for the day this weekend and lunch was a "make your own sandwich" type affair, all bits out, put what you want in it. There was cheese, ham, tuna, salady bits, pickles and sauces etc.

Now my friend Bob* had ham AND cheese in his sandwich To me, that seemed like he was having two fillings in one sandwich - terribly indulgent

My DS2 would only eat ham and cheese. In fact we all eat ham and cheese toasties, sandwiches, and even baked potatoes. I can't think of anything more bland than a cheese only sandwich

Yanbu.... It's abusive, period. What kind of bully steals food like that from right under your nose... He probably gets sick kicks from knowing he's cramming all that protein you worked so hard for into his fat belly.

Puzzled that sounds amazing. I was going to make Nigella's mozzarella in carrozza (sp?) but I couldn't be bothered. I clearly should make the effort.

I can't believe it! Really there are people out there that care so much about what another put in his sandwich? I'm italian and I would be only happy to see people enjoying their food! We have amazing panini......so ooooooh indulgent :)

The only thing I find a bit personally yaki is when sandwiches are filled with more than a type of meet....subway has a sandwich like that ....called italian smtg....It actually annoys me because no one I know would eat...to me it looks very American

that's nothing I overheard an order just the other day for for a toasted cheese, ham, onion and tomato sandwich

sandwiches with two different meats is wrong and so is mayo on anything

I make a sandwich for picnics that would make you crazy!
I hollow out a round cob loaf and then inside I later in random order - chedder, Brie, ham, chicken, corned beef, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion etc in various layers then pooh e top of the loaf back in as cut into wedges!!
It's lovely.

That's sorted then ... everybody round to Brie's for the next picnic!!
