To have another child and be done with it

I need to have a section with any other baby I have, I don't particularly like the thought of this and would love to avoid it but unfortunately cannot avoid it.

But I would like to start toning up my belly, should I just have another baby and tone up after? Or tone up for nothing as will need a section anyway

I'm currently on JSA, but I do work 16 hour so will be able to save from my work.

Should I just get child baring over and done with?

There's no McDonald's out here, but well, it's not a city.

BinaryFinary · 02/02/2016 15:47

he likes valeting cars? put an ad on your local FB site and gumtree and he can pick up a bit of work that way. i pay the guy who lives opposite £20 to do my car every now and again

BadlyBehaved I thought OP said she lives in a very very small village rather than a city?

greenkitee · 02/02/2016 15:58

I did say city but it's actually village. I mentioned no McDonalds because somebody said that a job there is better than a radio course.
No I applied for a job that was 40 minutes away and they told me to apply for jobs closer to home as the travelling is ridiculous, I was told if we applied for jobs that was more than 30 minutes away again we would be sanctioned as its waisting time when we should be looking for jobs closer to home

Happy workforce - less stress - less sickness - more productivity - more efficient

Sure, in theory. But its incredibly naive to suggest it in these terms, and show a complete lack of understanding of economics, and reality.

KatharinaRosalie · 02/02/2016 16:00

40 minute travel is ridiculous? Wow, a large part, if not most of the workforce in the UK will be happy to hear that.

NorfolkEnchantsToday · 02/02/2016 16:00

I doubt OP will be coming back now

TheCatsMeow · 02/02/2016 16:00

Ziggy I have an economics qualification actually, but that's not the point. I may have said it in simplistic terms however it doesn't mean the point doesn't apply - it's better long term for OP to get qualified in a job she enjoys than work and become miserable in the short term

I'm looking at the big picture

Cerseirys · 02/02/2016 16:05

How is 40 minutes travel time ridiculous? I know people who live in the same city they work in and that would be considered a reasonable commute!

CallaLilli · 02/02/2016 16:06

Surely if you live in a small village and there aren't many jobs available there, then a good percentage of residents would be having to travel a bit to get to work?

Fintan · 02/02/2016 16:09

I was told if we applied for jobs that was more than 30 minutes away again we would be sanctioned as its waisting time when we should be looking for jobs closer to home

That's interesting. Hmm. In my area - rural- people are told that they need to be prepared to travel up to 60 minutes each way.

PurpleDaisies · 02/02/2016 16:10

Same here.

Fintan · 02/02/2016 16:11

Not 60 minutes, sorry typo should read 90 minutes.

It used to be 90 here, Daisies.
Anyway, as Calla said, nearly everyone who lives here who works does commute and it takes at least 55 minutes on the fastest train to the nearest big city. We have a couple of smaller towns nearer, but there's not much work there.

PurpleDaisies · 02/02/2016 16:17

My 60 minute figure is from about two years ago when my sister was on benefits and needing to find a job. I might be out of date. Smile

Cerseirys · 02/02/2016 16:22

DP and I live and work in London. My commute is about 40 mins and his is an hour door to door!

greenkitee · 02/02/2016 16:23

There's not even a train station here, the nearest is 3 miles away. That's not the point anyway. This js what the JC have said

OP posts:
BunnyTyler · 02/02/2016 16:46

3 miles is a 10 minute bike ride, if that.
Not too far for you or your partner to get to.

expatinscotland · 02/02/2016 16:56

Yeah, same here Fintan. It's actually 90 mins. each way out here (rural, no train station for an hour by car and that hour involves travel over a mountain pass that sometimes isn't open) of yep, sanctions. Of course, a body has little chance of being called in for an interview for such a job unless it's a really professional one, but JSA claimants still have to apply.

That's very interesting Hmm

arethereanyleftatall · 02/02/2016 17:02

Op - could you start your own business cleaning houses? No set up costs, you get all the profits.
You can advertise for free too on Facebook.

unimaginativename13 · 02/02/2016 17:44

To be honest with the crap excuses your coming up with I don't really think you've got the motivation to actually get a job or sort your life out.

You will probably end up having another baby so then you can't work.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 02/02/2016 17:45

If the job centre have told you you will be sanctioned if you apply for a job with a 40 minute commute then they are either doing their job wrong or you have majorly misunderstood. That's just incorrect.
