Met a guy on Saturday night who just called me. I refused a date because he has a couple of missing teeth. Okay so maybe I'm shallow but it matters to me.

Why do people kid themselvesi that if teeth are gone at the back it doesn't notice? It does and it makes me cringe. So do rotting, or neglected teeth.

If you want to date, sort it out. Take out a loan if you have to!

rosewithoutthorns · 25/01/2016 19:40

Everyone can get false teeth there's no excuse.

I had an accident when about 7 and lost 4 at the front. In my day the dentist just used to take them out etc. I have a 12 point bridge, top front that has lasted 20 years. Now having to pay 12 grand for a new one. I don't have any money either but lucky enough to have a sister that does :) going to borrow it and pay back. Some people want a new car etc. I want a smile! So no, I won't date a guy with rotten or missing teeth.

kali110 · 25/01/2016 19:42

Sounds like this man had a lucky escape from going out with you.
I would rather date a man with bad teeth than someone as shallow and nasty as you.
I have a chronic health problem. It has lead to me having to have several silver fillings. No choice, white would not settle.
I know one of my teethwould be better coming out however seeing as i'm on blood thinners i think my health is a lot more important!
You know not everybody has money for the dentist, or treatments?
Yes on benefits you get SOME treatment free, the basics, certainly wouldn't be good enough for you precious.
My dh has wonky teeth.
However when i nearly died from a huge clot he stayed by my side in hospital.
After Less than a year of dating i got a chronic illness that changed my life yet he stayed.
I'll take wonky teeth

LilacSpunkMonkey · 25/01/2016 19:42

That's nice, dear.

Any chance you could go and be nasty elsewhere now? I'm sure there are overweight people you could go and tell to 'just lose weight'.

Sparklingbrook · 25/01/2016 19:43

I think you have found a BFF in the OP rose. Smile

rosewithoutthorns · 25/01/2016 19:43

I'd date a bloke with no fingers rather than rotten/missing front teeth Grin in fact an ex was in a wheel chair, so shallow isn't really my bad but I can't kiss a mouth like that.

Sparklingbrook · 25/01/2016 19:47

usual I would give 'boiling sperm' man a swerve.

Sparklingbrook · 25/01/2016 19:48

Grin rose

rosewithoutthorns · 25/01/2016 19:48

No, why sparkling? I just won't date someone with bad/rotten teeth. I look after myself and want the same too. Nothing at all wrong with that.

Sparklingbrook · 25/01/2016 19:49

Nothing at all rose Smile

LilacSpunkMonkey · 25/01/2016 19:49

Oh, rose, while you're here, any danger of you listing the 'regulars' you were bitching about the other day?

You know, the ones you were moaning about but refused to name any?

Or you could keep ignoring me like you do whenever I ask you to elaborate...

rosewithoutthorns · 25/01/2016 19:51

What are you carrying a thread over for Monkey? bad form indeed.

rosewithoutthorns · 25/01/2016 19:53

I just don't get embroiled in your shit Grin

LilacSpunkMonkey · 25/01/2016 19:53

Really, do you think so?

Because I think 'bad form' would be bitching about a certain group of posters but then skirting the issue of naming names.

If you don't have the balls to name names then don't bitch about 'regulars'.

Bad for, and all that.

rosewithoutthorns · 25/01/2016 19:54

Im dating and want the same as me, absolutely nothing wrong with that whatsoever.

0pheliaBalls · 25/01/2016 19:56

Everyone can get false teeth there's no excuse

No, they can't. Unless you're exempt from NHS dental charges you have to pay for false teeth - iirc it's well over £300 per course of treatment for bridges/dentures. I couldn't afford that and many others can't, either. I had to have two teeth extracted at a time when I was I was exempt, otherwise I'd have had to fork out a small fortune for bridges at a time when I was penniless.

rosewithoutthorns · 25/01/2016 19:56

Are you feeling guilty there Monkey Grin

I don't like people that post in a nasty manner so yeah I will ignore you from now on.

rosewithoutthorns · 25/01/2016 19:58

I care about my teeth. It's my thing and very important to me. I don't care whether it's not the same for you. I will not date a bloke who doesn't look after his teeth.

Sparklingbrook · 25/01/2016 20:00

Yes we get it rose you like a man with nice teeth same as your expensive ones.

rosewithoutthorns · 25/01/2016 20:01

I will and do find the money to do this. Im working class and would clean stone steps to look after my mouth, and want the same in a partner.
