Has anyone else seen the fallout on the craft craft and more craft page because someone tried charging £50 for a pair of socks? Grin

gunting · 14/02/2016 20:06

...

milkbottle · 14/02/2016 20:09

gunting yes! currently reading the comments and laughing! my favourite comment was someone assuming £50 was a typo for £5 and suggesting that she could up the price to £12!Grin

FrogletinaBallerina · 14/02/2016 20:10

gunting I've just seen the sock discussion - "is £50 a typo hun? I think you mean £5"

KenDoddsDadsDog · 14/02/2016 20:11

Well today Yonique helps women suffering from abuse. In a meme.

gunting · 14/02/2016 20:16

Milk and frogletina it's good isn't it Grin my favourite comment was 'no one questions Gucci sock prices'

GloGirl · 14/02/2016 20:17

For the love of God won't someone post the £50 craft socks?!

gunting · 14/02/2016 20:19

Glo I posted them at 8.06. They've removed all trace of the socks so it wasn't easy

GloGirl · 14/02/2016 20:21

Oh no I can't see them! I can see the tack-tastic Charlemange though Grin

Tableandchairs1234 · 14/02/2016 20:22

I want to ask how you wash those socks?

DickDewy · 14/02/2016 20:31

whatawhoppa wtaf is in that bag?

corlette · 14/02/2016 21:06

For glogirl here you go.

There's no denying there is some work in these but £50??

FB shite thread
GloGirl · 14/02/2016 21:33

Wow yes well if Gucci can sell them for £50, that's the same thing Grin

They are incredible though.

NerrSnerr · 14/02/2016 21:36

Is there some cultural reference that I'm missing? Sweating for the wedding?

FB shite thread
gunting · 14/02/2016 21:42

Nerr I'm not sure but I'm imagining someone at the gym with that?

NerrSnerr · 14/02/2016 21:47

Oh yes I get it. Sweating meaning getting fit for the wedding.

TheoriginalLEM · 14/02/2016 21:52

Those socks - if you were selling them based on the time they take to make yhem £50 is probably an undersell...

whatawhoppa · 14/02/2016 21:54

dick I have no idea. looks like random bits of shit out of the cheap christmas crackers. what kind of an emergency at a wedding would require the use of a mini peg in a bright orange colour? can't make out the other thing. thought it might have been a water pistol and a mini ping pong ball. and what use are the scrabble tiles?

CakeNinja · 14/02/2016 21:54

Oh god, I absolutely LOVE these threads, I think they are my favourite kind. I realise this makes me a horrible mean spirited person but the total shit that some people will try and sell has my face like Shock most of the time!
I joined my local group purely to spot gems and be able to post on here but it's so disappointing. People know how to spell chest of drawers, no one glitters ash trays and there is very little hunning.
Sad times.

Keep up the good work please, i have laughed very hard Grin

TheoriginalLEM · 14/02/2016 21:56

yes that really is an inflatable zimmer frame and walking stick! Hmm

FB shite thread
whatawhoppa · 14/02/2016 21:56

im going to come read the comments on those socks. has there been loads of hunning yet? makes my teeth itch that word 😵

whatawhoppa · 14/02/2016 22:02

LEM ask them if they have the inflatable wheelchair for the set, and will they deliver it a week on saturday when you get paid, cash.

SocksRock · 14/02/2016 22:04

Socks are timeconsuming - if I charged minimum wage for the socks I knit, they would be over £100 per pair. Obviously, I'm actually sensible and have realised I can't make a living knitting socks.

So I have a full sock drawer and an engineering degree.

TheoriginalLEM · 14/02/2016 22:16

i would hun. but they alreadt sstc Confused

Lockheart · 14/02/2016 22:27

The lady with the socks said they took her 20 hours. £50 is definitely an undersell by miles. Even without costs that would mean she'd only pay herself £2.50 an hour.

That said, I'm not sure it's realistic to think that people will pay £50 for a pair of socks on a regular basis, and if she's hoping to make a living out of it I would gently suggest she focusses her efforts on something else.
