To take it with Mumsnet about bullying on here?

Well I've just done it anyway. And this will probably be deleted. I have just found a really old thread of mine from Christmas 2014 that one of HQ people deleted it on the grounds of that Monty is probably rocking around the Christmas tree. I was really distressed at the time and didn't come back to the thread because my laptop crashed. I now have a new one. (a year later) I have posted sporadically between then and now. Fuming.

OP posts:
cleaty · 21/01/2016 09:22

I may be wrong, but was it Christmas 2014 when a lot of threads got deleted for strange reasons, and then no one could post for about a day? It was a strange time.

BlueMoonRising · 21/01/2016 09:27

Have you taken time to think about why the thread was deleted?

It is likely that there was a huge amount of troll hunting going on, you were probably being lambasted for not coming back to the thread. It would have been deleted because of that.

Mumsnet have basically, with that post, said 'op is not a troll, but she is probably distracted because, you know, it is Christmas'.

In what world is that bullying? They were bloody well looking out for you.

Sallyingforth · 21/01/2016 09:42

I you didn't come back to your post, for whatever reason, it was effectively over for you anyway. Forget it.

Sallyingforth · 21/01/2016 09:46

If you...

Owllady · 21/01/2016 09:49

If I was you I'd find out where dawnmumsnet lives, tie her up in a big red bow and drive her out into the middle of nowhere and leave her for dead

LieselMeminger · 21/01/2016 09:51

I read the deletion to mean you hadn't returned because you are busy enjoying Xmas. And if the deletion message needs to include a reason for your absence then it suggests your thread had turned into troll hunting.

I don't think MNHQ have bullied you OP, it sounds like they were sticking up for you. I'm sorry Xmas 2014 wasn't the best for you. There is bullying on here but I don't think this is it.

Sparklingbrook · 21/01/2016 09:53

Can you search for a deleted thread?

VertigoNun · 21/01/2016 09:58

It sounds like a joke to indicate you are busy at Christmas. You haven't stayed on the thread again. Rocking Robin anyone?

Leelu6 · 21/01/2016 10:22

YABU and too sensitive. Start a new thread if it bothers you.

goodnightdarthvader1 · 21/01/2016 10:23

Good grief.

ouryve · 21/01/2016 10:24

How did you find a deleted thread? Confused

Stratter5 · 21/01/2016 10:24

I'm very confused Confused

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 21/01/2016 10:45

Me too, Stratter5.

I don't think MNHQ would have deleted the OP's thread without a good reason - and I don't think I have ever seen a thread deleted just because the OP hadn't come back - as a previous poster said, if they did that, they'd never get anything else done!

And the deletion message was just saying that the OP was too busy having fun to come back to the thread - hardly abusive, though I can see why, if the OP was going through a bad time, she might have felt it was a bit hurtful because it was far from the truth.

Darvany · 21/01/2016 10:53

OP has found the deletion message on Threads I'm On. It was NYE when the site was down for a few hours, not Christmas, and iirc, there were no attempts at humour on the threads that were zapped.

I'm more confused that the citizen's wage thread has gone! WTF?

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 21/01/2016 10:54

Can someone explain how you find a deleted thread.

Sparklingbrook · 21/01/2016 10:57

I am guessing it wasn't in Chat then. Maybe an AIBU?

Not sure if this thread's helping TBH.

It was NYE 2013 that the site was down.

Darvany · 21/01/2016 11:02

Yy Sparkling. Tempus Fugit.

You click on Threads I'm On, and if it's been deleted you see the message.

You don't see the actual thread, although having access to the forum software trashcan is a nice thought. I bet HQ go there when they're bored and they've read all of Classics Grin

SoupDragon · 21/01/2016 11:03

Threads Im On doesn't last for a year though does it?

MuttonDressedAsMutton · 21/01/2016 11:04

Has the OP's computer crashed again? Hmm

Sparklingbrook · 21/01/2016 11:07

Perhaps we need to wait til 2017 for an update. Grin

Darvany · 21/01/2016 11:09

Thread I'm On might update (or not) depending on how many are on there rather than by date, so if you haven't posted much...

Actually, no, you're right. When I had a break from MN the threads dropped off one by one.

We'll have to ask the OP in 2017.

Leelu6 · 21/01/2016 11:10

I can't believe that I don't post threads on MN to spare people from my feelings, and other people post shit like this Hmm

exLtEveDallas · 21/01/2016 11:10

'Threads I started' does though - I've got one Smile

OP is overthinking. Thread probably turned into a troll hunt or similar and MNHQ made the decision to delete. The 'rocking around the Christmas tree' comment was simply that OP was probably too busy to return due to Xmas (Christmas trees/rocking around it/rocking robin etc). Serious non-issue because OP has got the wrong end of the stick.

Cleensheetsandbedding · 21/01/2016 11:16

Well I think it depends on how 'rocking around the Xmas tree is taken.

Rocking around Xmas tree - dancing having fun. Ok

Rocking around Xmas tree - distressed, mental health rocking. Not ok.

On a side note. I can carry a grudge for years Grin

Should start a new thread titled. ' what was your longest grudge and why!'

MuttonDressedAsMutton · 21/01/2016 11:23

I'm not sure I have enough life left for the next big reveal!
