Well I've just done it anyway. And this will probably be deleted. I have just found a really old thread of mine from Christmas 2014 that one of HQ people deleted it on the grounds of that Monty is probably rocking around the Christmas tree. I was really distressed at the time and didn't come back to the thread because my laptop crashed. I now have a new one. (a year later) I have posted sporadically between then and now. Fuming.

Your thread was removed it's hardly bullying. If MNHQ deleted every thread the OP didn't return to they'd be deleting loads.

It's pointless posting a thread about it. Contact them and ask them. None of us can comment on why it was removed.

Bullying it's not. Its barely worth a second thought after all this time

PerspicaciaTick · 21/01/2016 07:41

If someone said I was rocking around the Christmas tree, I'd assume they meant I was too busy enjoying myself to bother with my thread any more. I wouldn't assume they thought I was drunk or a troll.
And I really don't understand where the bullying fits in.
I understand it is disconcerting when threads go tits up and you miss why it happened, but throwing accusations of bullying isn't helping.

SoupDragon · 21/01/2016 07:47

Do deleted threads still hang around for ever then? Confused

Fent0n · 21/01/2016 07:48

How do you find a deleted thread?

You don't really say what the thread was about but I imagine as others have said, that there may have been some troll hunting on it and HQ deleted as you hadn't returned - I don't see anything bullying about their deletion message, but I suppose they could have dropped you a line.

Redglitter · 21/01/2016 07:50

Surely if you can still find it its not been deleted. Have MNHQ maybe just posted on it rather than deleted it?

Diamogs · 21/01/2016 07:51

I think you are over thinking this a bit op

ArgyMargy · 21/01/2016 07:56

YABU as your title doesn't make sense, it's a thread about a thread and you can't have "just found" a deleted thread.

Fairenuff · 21/01/2016 08:09

Just pointing out how judgy this forum can be.

On the thread were you judging others?

I think that forums like this invite judging. Especially in AIBU because you are asking for opinion.

If the internet is upsetting you OP, maybe take a break from it again?

scaevola · 21/01/2016 08:19

I didn't think deleted threads still showed, though perhaps it does if you're the OP.

Threads are certainly not deleted because the OP does not return, half of MN would vanish if that was the case.

AnotherTimeMaybe · 21/01/2016 08:22

Tbf MNHQ sometimes do make some odd choices, there they deleting threads assuming someone is trolling and at the same time they are happy to accept posts about breaking someone's legs if parking illegally in a disabled space Hmm

ghostyslovesheep · 21/01/2016 08:23

I the op clicked on threads I started she would see the deletion message

but OP with the best will in the world it was 2014 - time to move on

and it's not bullying

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 21/01/2016 08:27

What an attention seeking thread.

Pistachiocray · 21/01/2016 08:30

Threads do get deleted for silly reasons. Someone suggesting the citizens wage got their thread deleted Confused

Someone suggesting selling junk food for a health charity was counter productive got banned Confused

A whole year and this is bothering you? i dont think your problem is mumsnet i think you have problems to be honest.

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 21/01/2016 08:41

But what was the thread about?

Hmm

No way HQ would have deleted because you didn't come back, or because you were whinging about Christmas. Unless you where whinging about specific Christmas threads in which case you had a TAAT going?

It all sounds very odd, but it's certainly not bullying. But anyhoo, ask HQ to explain their actions...not that I imagine they'll remember, there'll have been a lot of gin under the table since then.

fastdaytears · 21/01/2016 08:46

It's fair enough to ask why your thread was deleted but I can't see any issue with the message. How would MNHQ have known that you didn't have a tree?

RonniePickering · 21/01/2016 08:46

i dont think your problem is mumsnet i think you have problems to be honest.

How lovely of you.

shazzarooney99 · 21/01/2016 09:02

RonniePickering, its been a whole year, its a website that is it, dont you think there is something wrong with that? worrying after a full year abou8t a thread thats deleted on a website?

MissyMaker · 21/01/2016 09:04

Is this a piss take of another thread or something? Confused

Sparklingbrook · 21/01/2016 09:10
Confused
RonniePickering · 21/01/2016 09:16

I personally wouldn't get wound up by it shazza but it's pretty rude to tell someone you think they have 'problems'.
