To think I shouldn't have to give DH a lift?

So, my husband's going out at 7pm tomorrow to meet his friend to watch football and have a few drinks. He's going to a pub around 8 miles away, the place is not on a regular bus route from our house (but by no means impossible), and taxi would probably cost around £10.

He's asked me to 'drop him off', i.e. do a 16 mile round trip purely to take him to the door of the pub. I am 8 months pregnant and have a 4 and a 7 year old.

Was I unreasonable to tell him to get a taxi?! He has managed to make me feel guilty, but I think it's a lot to ask, particularly at that time of night from the kids' point of view.

YANBU. He's being very selfish to be hauling his young DC out at that hour of the evening to go to the pub.

I don't get the issue. If he was asking for you to pick him up after then yes YWNBU but to give him a lift before the kids are in bed, I don't see why it's a problem. I would do it. Being pregnant isn't a disability (unless you have something like SPD then I take it all back).

I would do it too. I don't see an issue. Although if you CBA then YANBU to ask him to get a taxi.

Wouldn't bother me. I'd get him to bath kids and get them into pj before he goes then have nice sleepy children on way back and easy bed time

Yabu my DH is doing the same and I'm happy to take him with our three kids in tow. What's the issue?

Well, it would be taking the kids out at a time when ideally I'd be putting them to bed. Also, not got SPD but host of other issues which obviously he's aware of.

Was just made to feel quite selfish when I thought perhaps he was being the selfish one. Who knows, eh?!

8 months pregnant hauling two kids out at bedtime? I would do that for a major injury; spurting blood or similar. To save someone 10 quid on a night out? Fuck no.

Wouldn't bother me. Would have my 4yo in jammies and he'd likely fall asleep in the car on the way home.

On the rare occasion I go into town drinking, he'll always offer a lift too.

If the OP was happy to do it, then ok - but she isn't and getting a 4 year old in a car at 7pm for a round trip for the sake of saving £10... She's also 8mts pregnant and whilst not a disability I bet she's shattered poor lamb

Does it happen much? I'd do it for my DH because he very rarely asks for anything like that. I wouldn't do it for a committed piss artist who is out every week.
