DS glued to the poxy thing. He is 15 a good boy. Does go out and see mates so sociable. Does not bring me amy trouble. Studies hard at school. Somim very lucky. But when he is on that thing, I call it 'the machine'. He plays GTA with mates and all you can hear is him shouting out ya mother fucker" or fucking get ouuut my way or oi you ya silly prick etc etc.

I have spoken to my friends about this and work colleagues and they say their sons are the same
Would point out does not act like this when not on play station.
AIBU in wanting to launch the fucking thing out the window or accidentally on purpose cut the wires. He has been on GTA for about a year. Drives me nuts. And when I go flying in his bedroom to tell him off he goes mad shouting at me. As I said only behaves like this when on that poxy 'machine'

I do read, watch tv, and listen to radio and music. All of which seem to me to be more real world than a 1st person game.

I never get this attitude, I suppose that most people don't get that games can be about 'real' things, like That Dragon, Cancer, about the developers' terminally ill son or This War Of Mine, about normal people trying to survive a civil war. There are many, many more based on real events or with a point to make like Fate of the World, Democracy or Papers, Please.

Denton that's what I said earlier, my DS2 has learned more about history and/or got inspired to look more into things that he has come across while gaming that he ever has at school. He actually reads all the dialog bits that come up that when i used to play games I would just pass through asap :o
