DS glued to the poxy thing. He is 15 a good boy. Does go out and see mates so sociable. Does not bring me amy trouble. Studies hard at school. Somim very lucky. But when he is on that thing, I call it 'the machine'. He plays GTA with mates and all you can hear is him shouting out ya mother fucker" or fucking get ouuut my way or oi you ya silly prick etc etc.

I have spoken to my friends about this and work colleagues and they say their sons are the same Confused
Would point out does not act like this when not on play station.
AIBU in wanting to launch the fucking thing out the window or accidentally on purpose cut the wires. He has been on GTA for about a year. Drives me nuts. And when I go flying in his bedroom to tell him off he goes mad shouting at me. As I said only behaves like this when on that poxy 'machine'

30 is young enough to be my sonShock but I'd still not want to be married to someone who enjoyed playing GTA. It would mean to me that we had no values in common. DH would rather swim in sewage than play a game which was so crass. My 2 DSs also don't play it or swear in the house.

JohnLuther · 30/12/2015 16:37

Yes because everyone who plays GTA lacks values Hmm

StrapOnDodo · 30/12/2015 16:40

Like not thinking killing people, swearing and degrading women is a game. Or that it is something I want to spend time on. Each to their own but I prefer real life for entertainment.

JohnLuther · 30/12/2015 16:45

I'm sorry but I'm laughing so much I can't type properly.

GTA is not real life.

What do you mean by degrading women characters? I enjoy killing computer characters but I also enjoy racing games, puzzle games and RPG's etc, I'm not sitting there getting a hard on after shooting someone in a game.

wickedlazy · 30/12/2015 16:51

"I'd still not want to be married to someone who enjoyed playing GTA."

Erm have you ever tried it? Played the game and it judged for yourself? Feel quite defensive on behalf of dp who was playing it last night after putting ds to bed. On couch with a big furry blanket round him, enjoying the graphics and format. He loves the phone feature, where you get calls and texts etc. Have you ever even played a ps4? Gta is like the Marilyn Manson of video games now. Pisses me off.

myotherusernameisbetter · 30/12/2015 17:10

I'm just laughing at Strapondildo's name compared to her/his posts :)

StrapOnDodo · 30/12/2015 17:12

As I said, real life entertainment is better Wink

StrapOnDodo · 30/12/2015 17:12

It's dodo, not dildo anywayGrin

myotherusernameisbetter · 30/12/2015 17:13

oops, so it is!! must be my manky mind.... :o

StrapOnDodo · 30/12/2015 17:14

That game is corrupting your mind, seeing filth where there's none..

Rdoo · 30/12/2015 17:29

StrapOn, what exactly do you consider to be "real life entertainment". I assume you dont read books or watch movies? How are you entertained?

wickedlazy · 30/12/2015 17:39

I think she means the special naughty grown up type of fun Wink sex

Or possibly scrabble. Are naughty words allowed?

Rdoo · 30/12/2015 17:41

What, all the time? Surely she just wants to watch the telly sometimes?

wickedlazy · 30/12/2015 17:42

Oddly reminded of having to explain to dp what a queef was the other day. Got my revenge for him mocking me when I asked him what f-a-p stood for. It was graffitied every in the town centre and I couldn't work it out. No phone with me to google. He found this hillarious.

StrapOnDodo · 30/12/2015 17:43

I do read, watch tv, and listen to radio and music.

All of which seem to me to be more real world than a 1st person game. But I can see that they are not the same 'realness' as painting, drawing, playing instruments, learning languages which I enjoy infinitely more.

And I would watch or read a murder mystery so I can see that IABU, even if it's not an AIBU.

TaliZorah · 30/12/2015 17:50

Why are you on a forum if you prefer real life entertainment? Why are you even gracing us valueless cretins with your presence?

JohnLuther · 30/12/2015 17:51

Tali Grin

myotherusernameisbetter · 30/12/2015 17:55

Nah, I don't play the game - it's just that I've heard of a strap on dildo but not a strap on dodo...

StrapOnDodo · 30/12/2015 18:02

Tali excellent point

I'm off to do something real Smile
