To think they should have had lunch

Drove a 5 hour round trip today to collect DSDs.

Collected them at 2pm, we were a little late as the traffic was horrendous.

Turns out they hadn't had lunch. OH texted her to say how come they haven't eaten, she said most parents provide snacks for the car (I do provide a meal first and then a packed lunch for the journey when they leave from here), we pointed out we won't be home till at least 5 as I am driving and not unable to cook at the same time so dinner will not be at 5 as we arrive home!!

AIBU to think she should feed them lunch before they leave?

wow op got a bashing

if you know your children are being picked up at 1.30 (tho op 30mins late) but know then have 2.5hr journey so wouldnt home till 4pm ish then yes the adult with the children should give them lunch

ie their mother

i would be a tad pissed off if collecting children and they hadnt had lunch and in the car for 2.5hr

yes you can take snacks but not really needed if had a decent meal at 1pm and then could have tea at end of journey 5ish

Their Mum should have fed them lunch.

Your DP should learn how to cook and not get banned from driving when he's a grown up with responsibilities.

No idea why you're getting a load of shit when you're driving, cooking and providing. Except for your enabling of your partner, you're not doing anything wrong. Stop enabling him.

OP I noticed you posted on the thread about being paranoid about being identified! Your circumstances would be very identifying if exw were to be a MNetter!
