Husband's attitude

I was on the train coming home from a work night out.

Last 3 times (over last couple of weeks) I have had to get the train home there have been no taxis in the rank and if I've tried to book one its at least 20 minutes wait. I've eventually got one after standing for 15-20 minutes in the cold. It's Scotland so not freezing but colder than the rest of the UK.

So I called my husband on the way home tonight and asked him to pick me up. Train station is 5 minutes from our home. He said no and for me to just get a taxi as he'd have to put our dogs away to come and get me. He seemed to think it was funny saying no to me (as if I'd find it a joke too). He knows the rank hasn't been populated last times I've tried to get a taxi and I've had problems.

I did manage to get a taxi after 10 minutes tonight (unusually quick). But AIBU to feel hurt that he wouldn't inconvenience himself for 10 minutes to just come and get me?! It doesn't really make me feel warm towards him!

Yep he was being a dick, and I would be having a word with him about what a twat he has been. Normally people who love you would think nothing of making a short journey to ensure you were safe and not standing around in the cold.
Do they have Uber where you are? If so I would register. I never have to wait more than a couple of minutes for an Uber cab to turn up.

Thanks all, so many lovely people on here! Grin

No Uber XiCi - we spoke this morning and he says going forward lets just agree that he'll pick me up any time I come back off train as long as he's around...

My husband would gladly do this for me and I him. It's not terribly nice.

Oh ffs at some of the posts. Of course yanbu. My DH would do it without hesitation, I'd do it for him. I wouldn't want him stood outside in the cold at night whilst I sat on my warm arse at home watching Tv.

The forth road bridge is to open again so that may make it a bit easier OP?.

HappyGirlNow · 23/12/2015 10:33

Yes today justa - it will! It's really had such a terrible effect on all modes of travel.

Thank the lord it's open again!

You know what this shouldn't even be a big deal should it? Isn't just a small human kindness? I can't understand all the masses of reasons why OP's H shouldn't do it when all it would take is a bit of kindness.

I picked my dad up at the station after a night out. He didn't ask me. I offered. Sure he could have got the bus, or a taxi or walked but you know what? It is just nice to be kind sometimes isn't it?
