to think that Christmas is ruined because of the warm weather

I am not feeling it this year.
Winter should be cold.
Cold, crisp sunny days, warm Christmas jumpers, hot chocolate, frosty mornings.

This Christmas will be a damp squib. With the emphasis being on warm and damp.

Yab silly to say it is ruined as it isn't cold but it does feel wrong that it is mild and there isn't any snow.

rainydaygrey · 19/12/2015 21:05

Hahaha you are being ridiculous.

Your Christmas might be ruined but mine will be lovely.

Not ruined no but it does feel a lot less festive this year with no frost or chill, definitely.

goodnightdarthvader1 · 19/12/2015 21:07

I'm down south, it rarely snows on xmas day. January / Feb on the otherhand Hmm

I know what you mean, OP, but a nice sunny day will suit me well. I hate being cold so I'm enjoying the warmer weather whilst feeling guilty about global warming

BrandNewAndImproved · 19/12/2015 21:08

I'm quite happy not having to spend fuck loads on heating thank you very much.

I don't mind. I went in and out of town today in new suede boots. Not one drop of rain fell !

Ruined? YABU. Biscuit

Oysterbabe · 19/12/2015 21:14

Not ruined but I am hating the mild weather. Mostly wearing a vest and thin leather jacket and still boiling by the time I've walked into town. I'm very pregnant and would love a real cold spell.

Chattymummyhere · 19/12/2015 21:16

Unless it's snowing I don't care how warm it is for Christmas, saves on the heating. I've just put mine on for only 30minutes at 6am and put the rest off

ExitPursuedByABear · 19/12/2015 21:21

I'm so with you.

I cried one tear when it snowed on Christmas Eve. Although my mum was dying in hospital so that may have been a contributing factor.

Dd and dh have flown to NY today and it is warm there. Which is all sorts of wrong.

ignores family in South Africa

Needtobebetter · 19/12/2015 21:21

I'd prefer it to be cold and snowy, however, I'm not complaining. This was the first year I've been able to do my Christmas shopping without the boiling/freezing alternates and it was very pleasant!

Passthecake30 · 19/12/2015 21:23

I love it, if it gets any warmer I'm having a bbq, stuff the turkey Xmas Grin

ExitPursuedByABear · 19/12/2015 21:25

One year. Not one tear. That would be odd.

MeanwhileHighAboveTheField · 19/12/2015 21:27

Sleet forecast on Christmas eve for us so you never know. On the other hand I grew up in Africa so a warm Christmas doesn't seem that odd!

Ha ha ha I suggest you write a strongly worded letter to the goddess of weather...

Ruined indeed

MeanwhileHighAboveTheField · 19/12/2015 21:30

Actually just checked the forecast and is now saying snow for Christmas eve!

I don't mind the weather. I am sure we will all be frozen soon enough.

NarcyCow · 19/12/2015 21:32

I'm not enjoying it at all, I love the cold and am tired of all this warm damp crap. Also it's grey all the time, where are the lovely crisp clear mornings and golden afternoons of slanting winter light across the fields? We haven't had a single frost yet this year!
